I know I have been a lazy  blogger this week. I’ve been sick and logged in yesterday for the first time since last Tuesday. I snapped a few pics of this outfit I put on Monday night and shopped a bit and that’s about it.  I wish I felt as good as this outfit looks. I am combining some pieces from Ingenue and StoRin two stores with very complementary aesthetics and design interests. Both Betty Doyle of Ingenue and Annah Whitfield of Storin have a strong dedication to producing classics that will stay in fashion for a lifetime. You see, Heidi is wrong when she says “one day you are in and the next day you are out” because if you’re a classic, you may not be “in” but you are never “out.”

The jacket is a new release from Storin called Patrizia. Short cropped jackets have been de rigueur throughout the modern era. Yes, jacket lengths will vary and deconstructed versus constructed jackets will wax and wane, but a well-made, simple constructed short jacket will always fit in the tide no matter what is cresting the fashion waves. That’s true of the Ingenue Vintage Basics I am wearing as well, the Stenno blouse and the Secretary skirt. Spectator pumps like the Storm Schmooz Duotes will also never be out of style. They may not always be the next new thing, but they won’t be out.

The hair/hat combo is from !lamb and the jewelry is from Dark Mouse’s newest release. I love the how the garnet stones really add a new edge to a simple gold heart pendant.  That hat has an easy color change script.

This is 5th & Oxford’s Brooke skin. I love that even with the cat-eye makeup, the Brooke skin has such a gentle, vulnerable face. It’s just a very feminine face with a tender touch of wistfulness.
