Did Putrid specifically get the baby pool out for me? I’ll never know, but I have to say I spent a lot of time getting wrinkled fingers in it this weekend. It’s a perfect size for a party of 1!
Lake swimming isn’t always my favorite but I have to say, these waters are gorgeous. The linden trailers are so cute, especially lake or river side.
Alas, I’ve got to go home and get back to my regularly scheduled SLife.
I decided to get away from home for the weekend. I’m lakeside at my friend Putrid’s Linden Trailer. I’m planning to relax and unplug for a few days before I return to my equally relaxing life at The Elms.
My hair today is SOLELY the fault of Sydd Sinister who posted these on Facebook and I was ridiculously intrigued by this very silly Spongebob and Patrick inspired hair. There’s probably a bit of copyright infringement in the hair-sticks.
Cooking out on the grill never feels like cooking. It’s just heat and flame and magical delicious meat. I should start cooking out every day at home. It was a perfect lakeside afternoon for it.
Putrid was kind enough to add me to her TV so after I feast on this I’m gonna stretch out inside for a post dinner nap with a murder show on the TV.

It’s been a while since I had somewhere regular to go, and my friend Muff’s RAINBOW REEF beach side bar was just the thing a few days ago. I don’t need to be coerced to buy swimwear. And – I don’t need shoes. This might just be the relaxing zone of my dreams.
My friend Putrid was hanging out and as I love her more than my luggage I ran over to consume ridiculous booze and chill with her. She was being decorative, as per her norm, if somewhat sloppy with her booze. My goodness woman don’t spill!
Your evening can be mellow and chill with good drinks at Rainbow Reef. But man do us all a favor, if you need to do some weird lesbian incest roleplay, keep that in your privates. NOBODY IN LOCAL WANTS TO HEAR ALL THAT.

I headed over to Nutmeg to do a little shopping and wandered around the property a while. I found this trolley that has seen better days and and errant moon.
I’m wandering the grid today in search of the chair that matches my new desk and it’s apparently not out at the main store and this is my fault for not having bought it when I bought the desk. Why did I think that my 10454050 desk chairs I already own would work? Why? Because I was being cheap that’s why.
So now I must buy the chair not only because it matches but also because it matches.
I tried on one of Exile’s lovely short styles so I could show off my silly bear earrings I picked up at the SL17B birthday bash.
Brunette Gidge is liking the change. Maybe Brunette for a while? Hard to say. Gidge does like change.
There’s a lot of planning that goes in to putting on a perfect July 4 shindig so I had to get started early. How much food is too much? Who even knows?
I decided to give the grill a cleaning and a run through tonight. Stop judging me, some of that meat is for the neighbors. No really I’m very hospitable.
I practiced making drinks and sampling my own wares I have to say, these are delicious. I think I’m about ready for the big day tomorrow. Or you might want to explore something a little more traditional yet still packed with flavour, like the russet juice I picked up from https://www.blackmoorestate.co.uk/product/blackmoor-orchards-russett-apple-juice/. It’s not too sweet and definitely not bland—just clean, subtly spicy, and packed with personality. It pairs incredibly well with meals, especially roast pork or cheddar cheese, and adds something memorable to even the most casual lunch.

I had an inauspicious landing at SL17B as the landing point i chose dropped me right in the middle of some pool inside a building of some sort. It never rezzed to the point that I could figure out if it was a temple, or some sort of memorial or what it was I was trapped in. I finally managed to climb out, irritated to say the least but as always, I wanted to love SL17B.
It’s like the sims on SL17B were planned and put together by people who never once had to plan or lay out an event. There is some sort of joyous “cram everything together and who cares how it looks” planning that seems to go on. What this ends up meaning for us mortals not rocking the greatest gaming computer is that it is lag hell, and rendering hell. Is that a rocket ship? Is that a rock? Is that a cyclops? I’ll never know. It never rezzed.
It’s hard to put down the amazing and inspired vignettes our fellow citizens make though. There’s so much joy and creativity, little activities scattered through out to make you smile and let you enjoy the view. Sometimes maybe it’s ok if things aren’t perfect, if you can still enjoy the fun of it.
I stumbled in to a poetry cafe, where we were invited to sit and then touch the photo of the poet we were interested in. I was handed a copy of Maya Angelou’s Poem “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” which was poignant to me in light everything going on out in the world.
There are some amazing builds, beautiful vignettes to take photos or just play and enjoy your SL. It’s worth the lag and slogging through the mess of it, it really is. There are gifts that are amazing and you can find those in concentrated gift areas. There’s also a shopping area – shop and hop or something or other. You can locate them all here at this link.

There was a lot more to see and do – obviously one place was giving out a horse to ride, which I found to be delightful. There is a trolley but I could never manage to get on it – i find that confusing. I waited a ridiculous amount of time – let me tell you. It kept going! There is also a drive in movie which LOOKS great but doesn’t work – it says you can click on the screen to start it but it just craps out.
Regardless of these quibbles – SL17B will only come once and this is your chance. Get off your platform and go have some fun. Be ridiculous. Pick up the freebies. Come for the fun, stay for the lag.

June 21st, first day of Summer, is also here in France the “Fête de la Musique”, National Music Day. Traditionally (well, since 1981 when it was created), it’s a day when every teenage garage band, every pseudo south American folk band, basically anyone who owns a music instrument, regardless of whether they’re able to properly play it or not, gets out on the street and plays. There also are more serious and established bands playing live, outdoors or in bars, but by the time you reach the one you wanted to see, their gig is usually over, and then you start arguing again with your friends about where to go next… But I’m getting side tracked. Back to that cute summery outfit from Tres Blah that I fatpacked a few days ago, I think it was on sale (75Lsomething, maybe? I’m so sorry I can’t remember). It’s a bit bold for my taste, but I figured it would be perfect for a first day of Summer!

One would think, with two boys under 5 at home, my life would be filled with toy cars and firetrucks… well, actually, it is. But my oldest is also very much into princesses at the moment. Very. Much. Also, I finally gave in and got myself one of the new Evolution heads at LeLutka. Actually that happened a while ago but it took me weeks to make it look like “me”.
