So hey! Vintage Fair is still going for another week, but I’m leaving today for a 2 week vacation, and won’t have access to a decent computer where I go. Honestly, this year’s Vintage Fair is just the gift that keeps on giving. Digging through the many items the designers sent, I find more and more lovely things every day. And as I said in a previous post, I’m only showing you the things I love. Not saying the rest isn’t good, but if you know me, I’m not into very sexy clothing or lingerie. Oh hi!! The weather in SL was beautiful this morning and I decided to go to the beach. I rummaged through the gorgeous designs from Vintage Fair and found the perfect outfit. I absolutely love the 50’s vibe of this swimsuit from LX, it’s completely what I would wear RL. It comes in 8 adorable patterns, I had a hard time deciding on a favourite! My hairdo from Iconic is just short enough to not be a hassle at the beach, and the stunning art nouveau jewelry set from Bliensen + MaiTai just makes it all perfect! Now, where’s my sunscreen?

I come in to the settlements to get news or when it’s barter time, just to make an appearance.  It’s important not to be forgotten out here. Not that anyone would be likely to be helpful if there was help that was needed. It’s more about position, about who you are in the grand scheme of things.

I don’t barter.

I take what I want and everyone can just like it or not.  Mostly, I don’t take anything. No need to create friction, unless I just feel like having a fight. Mostly I don’t.

I come in to the main settlement every few weeks and wander around the perimeter. You never know what you’re going to find in the settlements, newcomers, oldbies with an axe to grind that’s as old as glitchpants, or calm. I am not here for trouble, just to learn what’s new, and to remind them I’m here.

Oh hello!! Did you know Uber is open? It has been crazy full for the past few days, but it should get easier now. I managed to get in though, and got myself the latest wonder from Truth, as well as that gorgeous top from Teefy. It’s sexier than what I usually wear, but somehow it feels classy on me. I covered my bosom a bit though, with a lovely necklace from Maxi Gossamer, she has regular sales, and this one was heavily discounted when I went.

Wander Away To Tempura

Since it’s not vacation if you don’t put on a swimsuit and do something lovely I decided to spend some time on the waterfront at Tempura Island which just happens to be near the vacation house I’m renting. Convenient, isn’t it? I thought so.

Tempura Island has been here for 10 years,  can you believe it? It’s one of my favorite places for photos, and I was reminded of that today wandering the grounds. It reminds me so much of why Second Life can be such an effective escape for a little while, so much beauty is all around us and in so many forms. It’s a wonder. Continue reading →

Magical Forests and Comfortable Boots

I decided to take a hike for my Saturday afternoon activity. CAN YOU BELIEVE that in an inventory of ALMOST 140k items I don’t own one single item called “hiking boots”?  I, like you dear reader, am incredulous of this fact yet here we are. I didn’t own a pair and since I was off on vacation and CLEARLY can’t just teleport to a shop to pick up a pair I had to make due with what I had in my suitcase inventory.

Luckily I had JUST thing thing from ISON – perfectly suited to protect my feet from nymphs or sprites or bugs or whatever it was that is currently inhabiting this place I’m staying for the weekend. Continue reading →
