Normally my answer would be “Hell to the No” but when I was shooting these pictures today, I figured it could not possible get worse and might get better. So when I saw there was a new update, I went for it. I have not been able to save a photo to disk since Monday and was saving raw shots directly from the SL viewer to Flickr. The photos for this post are raw, unedited pictures. They have not even been cropped. I know Flickr has a photo editor, but I don’t like it. Still, it turns out fine. I just like to play with a few little touch ups now and then. I am wearing a fun and adorable sailor sweater and flared skirt from MotiAme that I found at Kustom9 when I dropped by to throw money at Apple Fall, as one does. The sweater comes in gray, brown, blue, black, red and white. The skirt is in black, white and blue. They fit together well and have a lovely early fall feeling – for those days with brisk breezes, a bit of mist in the air and moments of sunshine. October in Oregon.

Ghee’s Twiggy flats for Vintage is Cool are a must have. They come with a HUD and crazy ability to customize, making the straps, toe caps, vamps and heels and ribbons and all sort of bits and bobs into an array of colors. I restrained myself and made everything black.

Ploom just released some new hair. This one comes with bows, but I left them off. I thought the sailor sweater was already looking very youthful and the bows would be too much. I remembered Yummy made some cute nautical jewelry a few months back for Collabor88, so I dug them out. They worked a charm.

So, after the update, my viewer is functioning as it should again, allowing me to download my pictures so I can mess around with them before I upload to Flickr. I did just the lightest bit of editing to refine a few things that are not flaws created by the folks who made things but artifacts of SL’s design restrictions. such as how light affects the default avatar differently than mesh and the lovely curvature of our noses. The original is here. Since I was saving things to Flickr, I thought it might be fun to see how the filters work, so I tried this same shot with every filter that is now built into SL.
