Rockabilly is ascendant at Collabor88 and that makes me happy. Of course, rockabilly is a music genre – but it has its own fashion aesthetic just a punk, hiphop and grunge do. Music and fashion are forever entwined.
I thought you might enjoy this neo-rockabilly song from Imelda May, Johnny Got a Boom Boom. If you listen, you will learn he also has a bam.
For Collabor88, Decoy presented neo-Rockabilly fashion. Waterfall skirts and racerback tops are not the stuff of tradition. However, the bold polka dots sure are. It’s fun to see the mix of old and new in this dress.
Ingenue has fabulous shoes, of course, with very traditional elements such as the peep-toe and the ankle strap but also mixed with modern tweaks such as the heel.
The hairdo from tram is pure rockabilly and so are the cat-eye shaped glasses from Yummy.
This is an older skin from Tuli – but still luscious. I thought the dimples were fun and great for my rockabilly look.
