Growing up in Minnesota, it’s natural that I love to listen to a Prairie Home Companion. I always found so much that resonated with me in the stories of Lake Woebegon. I grew up in an even smaller village. We had only one business in our town, “the” resort. I just realized I have absolutely no idea what the real name of the resort was or is. It was just THE resort. There were a dozen little cabins and the cafe where you could buy hot dogs, fries and earthworms, as you do.

I have been feeling a bit woebegone myself and tuned in on the web and enjoyed listening to this song, a plaint about the cold to the traditional spriritual “”Down to the River”. It made me laugh and happy to be living in Oregon.

This “Love and Affection” jacket, top and pants from LivGlam is probably not warm enough for Lake Woebegon, but it’s perfect for Oregon where the cold weather is a an infrequent visitor who leaves as quickly as it can. With a nip in the air, I feel a lot of love and affection for warm and cozy wools. I love the broad, bold shawl collar. With it, I wore the gorgeous Georgia Pumps from Miamai. I found it a little disconcerting, though, that the medium pants came through the medium jacket, but dieting in Second Life is so much easier than in our first lives, and I simply dropped down a size in pants. This is just one of the many outfits produced by Liv-Glam for The Style Icon, inspired by the casual elegance of Katie Holmes.

My hair is from the January Collabor88 – which you should be able to find in Clawtooth’s main store now. Collabor88 opens tomorrow and I am eager to see the new releases. This photo shows a minor flaw in the outfit, one that is visible from only a few angles. As you can see, the inner part is not lined at all revealing the wall and my hair behind it. You can see that a small portion of the inside has been textured, so most of the time, it won’t be noticeable – just in a few positions.

The skin is Mokatana by Glam Affair for January Collabor88 and the earrings are from Paper Couture – from last year.
