One of my favorite features on iTunes, is the “Also Bought” suggestions that show up. The idea is simple, you like something, someone else liked it, so you might like what they liked. That was how I came across Valerie June, a new addition to my list of favorite singers. She’s such a fascinating blend of R&B, folk, gospel and even a bit country that you just cannot pigeonhole in any genre. That kind of versatility is not necessarily an advantage. It often seems the most underrated singers are those who cannot fit in one simple slot. Anyway, if you like Amy Winehouse, Macy Grey, Brittany Howard and the other gritty vocal divas, you will love her.

My outfit is a Collabor88 trifecta today – the dress, shoe and hair can all be found at this month’s collabor88. The dress is an adorable plaid jumper, youthful and fun, though it avoids the expected schoolgirl silhouette. The shoes are from Ingenue and seriously, this is going to be one of my favorite pairs ever. Perfect for pants or dresses, formal or casual, the fashion-forward design is versatile and chic.

I tossed on some necklaces from Maxi Gossamer that have a texture change script so they can be customized for just about anything. The hair is from Clawtooth and is aptly named Windswept. Everyone needs some windswept hair and this is a particularly excellent style because it’s not too windswept. I want to look like there’s a breeze, not a hurricane, so I appreciate that the hair is blown to the side, but also that it falls  naturally.

The skin is a new release from Glam Affair – new makeups for her recent NEVA line released for Kustom9. As ever, FLAIR has a perfect manicure for the situation.
