Did you know that all of A-Bomb’s clothing is named after songs? It’s such a great conceit and I often wish I had such a framework for post titles when I struggle trying to come up with one. For today, though, I will just steal my title from the name of my dress, Time After Time. It’s a perfect name, isn’t it, for a dress that recalls days gone by. I love this dress and not just because I love Cyndi Lauper.
How do I love thee, dress? Let me count the ways: I love the cutwork lace on the hem. I imagine that taking a lot of skill and time to create. In real life, cutwork is some of the most frustrating and delicate forms of embroidery. I love the embroidery on the skirt – it is beautifully done. I love the shape of the dress with its bodice and full skirt. It’s not often seen in modern designs and it’s our loss because it is so flattering. I love the white lace upper bodice. They didn’t take the sleeves are hard, let’s go strapless approach, and made a gorgeous bodice that really makes the dress. By the way, the gorgeous shoes I am wearing with the dress are from Donna Flora – the Dana Baroque pumps.
Now you can see how beautifully made the bodice is. Notice the continuity in the lace. The multiple sheer layers in the skirt. This is one fabulous dress.
Finishing touches include the Diana set from Donna Flora’s jewelry line, the Marion very retro hairstyle from Exile and makeup and skin from Belleza. I shot the pictures at Kadeling Garden on Karazhan.
