How many of us thought it would take more than two months to work our way through the Fashionable Relay Challenge – and that we have is testament to the inspiration and guiding force behind the challenge Sasy Scarborough – and she will surely see us through to the end. I have enjoyed seeing the varied but always well-executed outfits throughout the challenge, but none more so than Elisabeth of Ou la la mode, so I was very pleased when Sasy asked me to pick up the baton after her. So, her outfit has several elements that I would love to build an outfit from including the jeans, vest, belt, hair and shoes. I ran around checking them out and finally decided on the Wide Belt Embossing from Coco because I needed a good casual prim belt.
I wanted to work in items I already had in my inventory – though of course checking that everything was still for sale. The first thing I thought of was the Riders Jacket from Cipher. The buckles and the straps that make it such a great jacket find would also make it work well with the belt. The next item I selected was the lowrise striped pants from Fear & Clothing and sure enough, it rode on just the right place on my hips for the best. To stay with the same aesthetic as the jacket and belt, I put on the Ving boots from Shiny Things.
The toughest part of styling the outfit was choosing a top. There were several options but I knew I didn’t want a plain tee shirt or camisole. I thought about a black and white polka dot top, but didn’t have one that tucked in…and then I remembered the Streep pants outfit from M*A*ii*K*I and pulled out just the underwear layers. They were exactly what I wanted. All that was left was choosing some jewelry. Bliensen & Maitai just released this Art Deco set and after playing with the texture changing options, I thought it was perfect.
I chose the Codie Bob from Eshi Otawara. It came in black and I have tinted it red. The makeup is from Curio, Gala’s Vixen line with the Sundust shade and the Roxy makeup. I am also wearing the new prim lashes from Lelutka – well worth the effort of editing the individual prims for shooting great pictures.
The baton now passes to Zoe Demar with the blog Z Complete. I hope she can find something she likes from these choices and look forward eagerly to seeing what she styles.
