My friend Gogo over at Juicybomb told me about a new residential community called Portofino that is to die for with so many great things to see and do that I had to check it out. So I drove down to the train station to ride over in style to check out this new to me place.
I specifically went for lunch, hoping to find a nice café and wasn’t disappointed. Portofino is a roleplay sim but it’s great for us tourists also, and I’ll be going back a lot I can tell. It’s just lovely and welcoming.
After lunch I found the cutest nail shop that I couldn’t resist stopping in for a quick manicure. I also took this time to shop for skincare products from Perfect Image. For my hair care products, I love ordering them online. And to keep your dreadlocks clean and moisturized, make sure to use loc gel.
It’s really lovely to have an entire city here to come to and do all the things Gidgey loves – did I mention there is both bowling and roller skating? Plus lots of dining options and even a big box retailer we will refer to as Bullseye ! You already know I went and smelled some candles.
After my exploration and adventures I decided I deserved a little treat so I grabbed a slide of really good cake at the local bakery.

It’s a three day weekend in the US and I’m celebrating by spending some time doing a little vacay at a beach that is not my own beach but a different beach so that’s somehow better, right? Visit the best website for travelers if you are also planning a vacation for you and your family.

I found this really interesting sim with lots of great blogging spots, lovely vignettes to spend time in, either living your SL or just blogging it, and I admit I was really taken in by it. The rain particularly, from a distance, had a calming, almost soothing effect.
However standing in it was a big old mess and you couldn’t see anything.
Looking at it through the windows though? Perfection.
On the same sim I found a beautiful night view of the milky way. I spent so much time here just staring in wonder that I think part of my brain forgot that this is just a picture and not the real thing.
Looking on the Milky Way with my own eyes is a dream of mine. I want to go to a place that’s perfect dark and let me look into the galaxy. I’m not sure what I expect to see there, but it’s something I need to do.
I took a picture of these doggos in the rain, which really enchanted me but I couldn’t get it any clearer than this – the rain was nuts!
All in all, I do recommend visiting.

I headed out to the city today to do a little shopping and maybe grab a bite somewhere. How’s your Saturday?
While I do have a host of vehicles I love to drive around, nothing beats the subway for getting around when you’re in a big metro area. And in my pixel life, no one is pooping on the floor during my ride so that’s a plus!!

I have a deeply etched love for creators who tell you what the free gift is that they’re giving away at events. Today I’m celebrating three of these champions from Shop & Hop who pulled me in with their cute offering.
Why does it matter so much what your free gift is? Well, technically it doesn’t. But I don’t want to pick up a bunch of random stuff, honestly. I look at free gifts as a chance to check out your work for free, and I do go back and patronize those folks whose work I like. No one owes me a free gift, and I do truly appreciate them. But those champs who show what the items are – well you’re the true MVP folks.
These conversation heart jeans are a great example. While I was wandering through this booth, I saw them and my first thought was “Man, I wish those were the free gift!” and holy shit they were!
Are the seams perfect down the side? NO. It was FREE I don’t really care that they don’t dork around with the texture to match it up in this instance. The waist and the button, fly etc look fine and honestly it’s conversation heart jeans – so cute. I’m not too precious to sweat the seam on this.
My sweater is a little fuzzy but I like to think that’s because it’s cashmere. Right?

I heard there was a new place to check out for wine and treats and had to make my way over there. When I landed, I was a little perplexed that the only way down was via skylift. I wasn’t really dressed for it, but I did have panties on so no roaming werewolves were getting a show and I decided to just go for it and see what happened.
It’s a really adorable little village, and I was able to pick some things up while I was there. Now you might see that alpha collision with the window and my hair. There are people who want to act like that is some sort of photo catastrophe. You know what that is? That’s what it looks like in SL. This will be your experience too most likely and you aren’t going to die because of it. I suppose if you have some photoshop foo and you wanna try to fix it well that’s cool and good for you, but I don’t and I don’t think it’s wrong to show things on the grid the way you are going to experience them.
This rant brought to you by memories of someone who once ranted at me about a photo that had alpha halos.
Other parts of this build were also beautiful, although strange when coupled with the city build. I guess I need to maybe read what it’s supposed to be or something. Maybe.
I don’t know. I got some wine, that was really my goal. Now – time to get back to the skylift!!

Candytopia feels like I place I should have been before now but somehow I’ve failed to go. I made amends for this today by going and actually even checking out their fun game. It’s like the worlds biggest candy land and you can walk through all of the beautiful lands as you progress – and even get a treat here or there.
You know I was loving that!
There are treats and snacks along the way and everything would meet Willie Wonka’s criteria of being edible, eatable – YOU CAN EAT IT!
At the end of course I was the winner as I was playing alone but that didn’t stop me from sitting in the King’s throne for a bit.
