I am always excited when a blogger becomes a clothing designer. I think of Milla Michanaga who formed MichaMi and Elysium Elide who started elymode and recognize that both of them focused long and hard on construction quality. I think that, being bloggers, they had this pre-formed set of standards that created a daunting hurdle to overcome before they began to release. Having noted construction flaws in other work, they felt an obligation to do as they say and held themselves to higher standards. So, when Thalia Heckroth™ told me she was moving into clothing design, I was excited. This is her first release and I am pleased to say she continues the tradition.
This is fitted mesh and I first tried to wear it with the Slink Physique body. It would have worked beautifully except that its edges do not follow the edges of the Slink Physique alpha. This will be a common problem with all kinds of mesh clothing until one or both of two things happen. Clothing designers will, I expect, take the alpha edges of the Slink hud into consideration when developing their designs and I expect that, the Slink HUD will be updated in the future with more alpha options in critical body areas like the bodice where there is more variation in the form clothing takes.
I have not had much experience with fitted mesh which resulted in an simultaneously frustrating and hilarious round of shape adjustment. You see, the bit that was exposed because the Slink alpha was lower than the top of dress was just the wee tiniest bit on the upper and outer side of the breast, so I decided to adjust my shape a smidgen to make it go away. And so I would adjust my shape the tiniest little bit, moving a few sliders just 1 or 2 percentages and it would look great and I would save. And then, dang it, there it was peeking out again. I must not have done it enough, so back to the shape adjustment, get it so it looks just right, save and again! Skin peeking through! I repeated this several times before the reality of fitted mesh came to me – each time I saved, the dress and the Physique body were conforming to my new shape – so each time, they came back to the same ratios in relation to each other. Dang! This fitted mesh works too well. So back to my old shape and my regular avatar body and the alpha that came with the dress. It’s gorgeous, fits perfectly and comes in more than a rainbow of colors.
I added this new Diaphonous jewelry set from Jumo in peridot. I have a preference for big, bold jewelry and am so thrilled to have discovered Jumo at Fashion For Life. My hair is a new release from Truth called Dasha.
The skin is PXL Creations’ newest, MIA, one in a Jazz quartet released at Rhapsody.
