Hello World! Tristan here with my first post!

I’d like to thank Gidge, Cajsa and the entire gang here at the Its Only Fashion blog for their warm welcome and all their timely advice. I hope that my style, writing, and photographic skills (or lack thereof) don’t embarrass them too badly lol.

Now, as luck would have it, this weekend was the opening of the Fashion for Life event. I was able to head over on Saturday evening and put this outfit together from items I picked up while shopping there.

For those of you who don’t know, Fashion for Life (FFL) is the annual shopping event associated with Relay for Life in SL which supports the American Cancer Society. Spread out over 9 sims, FFL features over 200 designers of all things related to enhancing avatar appearance. The builds on all 9 sims were simply amazing and lag was easily manageable. Huge kudos to the organizers, builders, designers, sponsors, and all the volunteers who have made this event possible!

Though menswear only had a small presence at FFL, there were some gems that I picked up on my excursion.

The Drift jacket is one of the FFL2012 exclusive items from Lapointe and Bastchild. The detailing is exquisite, as on all their products, with alternating sections of quilted leather and denim. The sleeve details are particularly well done. Underneath the jacket is the Absolom sheer top from another of my favorite Gothic inspired designers, House of Rfyre. I love the sheer panel that sets it apart from your every day white shirt. Though it is normally worn with a cowl neck collar, I decided to run without it for this look. Moving downward are the “Looped” belt and leather pants from Lapointe and Bastchild, and finishing with the striking Black Guard II boots from Rfyre. These boots are one of the two exclusive donation items from Rfyre and feature a triple buckle on the boot upper. The look is completed with a cross necklace from +:+ WTG +:+ also found at FFL.
