Cats and bats go together and not just phonetically. We didn’t need Michelle Pfeiffer’s portrayal of Catwoman to know that the relationship between Batman and the arch-villainess was complicated by unwilling and unwanted attraction. So, when I decided to bring out my Catwoman costume again, I also pulled out EarthStones brilliant Desmodus jewelry set – because wouldn’t Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman have worn it if she had the chance?
I first put this costume together to shoot an announcement for a Cartoon party @ Vicious. I think there were 4 Betty Boops there that night in various stages of Boopitude. I ended up going as Mystique since I didn’t want to look like the flyer. The costume comes from Nonna Hedges though I use some Barbie Princess earmuffs to enclose the mask a bit. The shoes are the ever versatile Bitch Booties from Stiletto Moody.
I could not resist using Curio’s Cat Skin. Here you can see the brilliant design of the Desmodus set more clearly. This is in black steel with red jasper stones.
Walking in the woods one day
I met a man who said that he was magic
Wonderful things he said
Pointed hat upon his head
Knew why people laughed and cried
Why they lived and why they died
Shadows followed him around
He walked the woods without a single sound
Golden eagles at his door
Cats and bats played on the floor
Silver sunlight in his eyes
The wizard turned and melted in the sky.
