JUMO just released Arthuriana – a skirt and top combo in chocolate, oil, marsala, navy and violet The dress comes with a luxe wreath of gold and pearls, earrings, bracelets and a headpiece. However, I was inspired by the print to take the outfit in a different direction.
As you can see, Arthuriana has Wow! factor aplenty with its design details such as the dramatic sweep of the skirt and drama of the cutout back.
I decided to shoot the pictures at Failure to Thrive, one of the Linden Endowment of the Arts sims. It is beautiful, eerie and well worth several visits. For some reason, it made me think of “and the sun yields mercy,” a poem by Charles Bukowski, another favorite poet. One of my friends gave me the best gift one Christmas, using cutout pictures from magazines and construction paper, she made me a calendar of lines from 12 Bukowski poems. When the year was over, I pasted new months over the calendar part and used the illustrations again and again until it was falling apart with age. I loved that calendar.
I chose the Mary pumps from Garbaggio for The Arcade because they will go with anything – especially since there are eleventy million colors in the HUD.
Here you can see the sexy back that gives a bit of surprise and counters the modesty of the front. I like that sort of juxtaposition and think it is a hallmark of good design.
This turban from Couture Chapeau is all that and such a happy choice to wear with the dress. It takes it in a new direction.
The jewelry is from Kunglers and its organic inspiration in elegant forms is the epitome of Kunglers jewelry aesthetic. The skin is Glam Affair’s Kaia. I chose the dark mauve lip and then used the Stella hud for the mesh head to dial down the intensity.
