I Am Easily Amused

Seriously, I got far too much of a kick at wearing L’Abel at La Perla – an la-diculous la-incidence that more mature people would not even notice. Oc course, I am one of those people who can get fixate on a word and play with it, pulling it apart, removing the wheels and inspecting the undercarriage. I keep a dictionary for bathroom reading. My college offered a Linguistics major and though it was not my major, I spent many hours in the Word Room where my incipient love of words deepened into a life time love affair. L’Abel is a perfect store name for me, a neologism that references the creator’s name (Neferia Abel) and makes light fun of the emphasis on labels and branding in fashion marketing. It’s sly, clever and witty. Speaking of sly, clever and witty, what about that hat?

Nardcotix produced an amazing collection of hats for Modavia Fashion Week. I have been mourning the loss of Elegance Hats for a long time and am thrilled with the quality of the hats from Nardya Rousselot of Nardcotix. By the way, another store with a clever neologism for a name. I like hats a lot, particularly silly, extravagant high fashion hats. The prim work on a hat has to be meticulous. There are plenty of hat stores that make nothing but hats and the brims are thick so they sit far too heavily on the head. There’s none of that with the hats from Nardya, these are hats you can wear proudly.

My outfit combines the skirt from one outfit with a houndstooth wool bodysuit from another. The wonderful thing about every L’Abel collection that is released is that the pieces are perfect for mixing and matching. It makes sense to pick up several outfits that you can wear as they come or mix up in dozens of different ways. Neferia Abel understands the need to get more for your money and shows that by producing clothing that is versatile and wardrobe building.

The rest of the outfit is from recent releases. The Expert hair is from Lelutka and was released a couple weeks ago. The jewelry is from Paper Couture’s Fall Collection and the skin is from Chloe, released by Belleza this week.

La Perla is a stunning sim and a great spot for shooting photos. This picture also gives you another peek at my Nardcotix shoes. Sadly, they no longer allow scripts so pose huds and pose stands are both unusable. Of course, we can still play the animations directly, which is what I did. This is a recent change and probably a response to bad behavior. It’s too bad people misbehave. That’s why we can’t have nice things like pose huds and stands everywhere we go.
