Fashion For Life: Acha's story

After reading through the stories at the Fashion For Life website, I was inspired to write my own.  Two women who are close to me have had cancer.  One, my father’s girlfriend, is a survivor of neck cancer.  The treatment was invasive and terrible, and involved radiation, chemotherapy, and an operation which has made swallowing food extremely uncomfortable to her.  Still, she survived, and has been in remission for a decade now.  The second, my mother-in-law, passed away from pneumonia caught while under a steroid treatment for lung cancer.  Her treatments were also invasive and terrible, but they prolonged her life so that she could meet and enjoy her granddaughter.  I am eternally grateful for donations made toward cancer research, because without these donations, two amazing women would not have had this much time in the world.  I am proud to blog for Fashion For Life.
