What's in a name?

Juliet says, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Well, that’s true, certainly, as far as roses go. But if you were offered sight unseen to sniff a rose or a skunkweed, which would you choose? Names carry social and cultural cues which is why there’s so many ridiculous names of heroes in historical romance novels and why few people today name their daughter Ethel or Velma.  So, I am wondering why this sexy little mini-dress is named Clyde?  Sometimes I am curious how things get named. Perhaps it’s after the  Clyde Barrow, the romanticized bank robber of Bonnie & Clyde? Well, I don’t have to know to wear it and that which we call Clyde by any other name would look as sexy.

Clyde is a wee short mini dress – one you could easily wear as a long blouse over pants. I opted to add some leggings that carried through the lacy femininity of the dress, choosing these crochet tights from !Doux Petit Dahl. The Adam n Eve Babii pumps are in the perfect blue – and one of the few stores to offer that gorgeous dark sapphire blue.

I chose the lovely Storm hair from Detour – wanting a wilder hairstyle so that the look was not too sweet – but still a very feminine and soft style. I must mention, by the way, that this dress is loaded with options. It can be worn as just a top (and four different ways) or just as a skirt. You can have two cap sleeves or one – or just spaghetti straps on the bodice. You can choose the level of opacity for the bodice as well. It’s a great mix and match element to add to your wardrobe, especially as in comes in several colors.

The makeup is Cleo from Dutch Touch in Lavendar. I love how expressive the face is in this line.
