Not Too Shabby

Hybrid Ansar of Not Too Shabby did not know that I just selected a trove of red and black dresses from Modern Gypsy when she gave me this lovely prefab loft for Christmas. But seriously, if she had been reading my mind, she could not have chosen more perfectly. Small lofts like this often make great photo sets, but this one stands out for it’s brilliance as a piece of art. It made me feel so very high concept that I had to pull out my DARE poses – the most high concept poses in Second Life and get all arty with some of the Robert Longo poses and other poses from seminal photographers.

The rich brocade fabric in the dress has stunning characteristics that aren’t readily visible in photos including glimpses of dark red among the black that makes you think of smoldering lava under the hardened crust in a lava field. I wanted to extend that design further so I wore the Vines stockings from Sheer. The shoes are a perfect choice – from Baiastice, they are red with black accents on the heel and vamp.

The jewelry is from Donna Flora – a thoroughly modern piece with baroque complexity that seemed a perfect encapsulation of this dress. The hair is a wonderful style from LaLa Moon with great movement for such a short structured style.

With the red belt and the flashes of red in the brocade, I wanted makeup with a red that would stop a freight train and that’s what you get with Adam n Eve’s Angel Scarlet makeup. Are there better train-stopping red lips anywhere?
