Tweed: Fabrics of Fall

I miss Gidge, don’t you? She’s been offline a lot for a very good reason, all her energy going into making a baby so she’s sleeping and napping and sleeping some more. And that’s all good if it means a happy, healthy baby in April. But I still miss her and the blog really misses her posts. She’s so funny and so much fun to pal around with.

And you know she would come up with some clever title to highlight the name of the store for this gorgeous jacket/dress. It’s a lovely tweed with frog toggle closures running up the front. Other great details include the slightly puffed sleeves and cuffs. Though the skirt prim is not open in the front, making it a dress, not a jacket, I decided to squint and think of it as a jacket anyway and wore it with the great tweed pants from Zona Cero.

The boots are Redgraves Biker Boots – I just left off the upper attachments that would conflict with the cuffs. I frequently do that to wear boots under pants.

The hair is Manhattan from House of Heart. One of my quibbles with H0H hair is the high hairline and the bare forehead, but many hair styles in Second Life come with bangs and some stores sell sets of bangs. I have a folder named bangs and anytime I get a hair style that comes with a bangs attachment, I make a copy and paste it into that folder so I can add bangs to hair that I think needs it. That’s what I did here. Adding ETD Left Swept Bangs to the look and tinting just a bit for a match.

The earrings are from Donna Flora’s Asia set and have a black filigree drop that echoes the look and shape of the frog toggles. The skin is from the Skin/Shape Expo and is by The Obscene.

Thanks for the word on Gidge; I’ll miss her as well, though I don’t think she’s gone on a total drought yet.

Beautiful combo here; this tweed looks really good on you!
