Fabulous Fashion TV – It's Fabulous!

posted by Gidge Uriza

I spent a ridiculous amount of time agonizing over what to wear during my 8 minutes of fame on Fabulous Fashion TV.  In addition to being unbelievably disorganized, confused and tardy during the entire process – I was nervous.

Unbelievably so.

I ended up wearing PXL Creations Nails instead of these Black Nails

I ended up wearing PXL Creations Nails instead of these Black Nails

Here is the kind of paranoid crap that ran through my mind.

  • Who should I wear?
  • Will someone be insulted if I DON’T wear them?
  • Should I wear what I’m talking about or not?
  • What sort of look should I go for?
  • Should I go for any look at all?
  • Would Would Joan Jett Do?

So all this aside, I decided to embrace the stylists credo (after all I was the guest stylist although I wasn’t doing Angie Mornington’s hair) and wear all black. They do this to minimize their own fabulousness and to make it all about YOU – if you’ve ever wondered why some do that. Really upscale places tend to (or neutral colors).

So I had on this sweet outfit from Little Rebel but it had a skirt that made even my skirtshape bootie like GI-NORMOUS so I kept the lace top and painted on Zaara’s uber tight and slinky Ishaya pants. VOILA! Black and smooth!

I realized though, as I popped on my big old Texas Pageant hair from Damselfly (it’s actually called Grayce, that’s just me goofing about the style) that I wanted a second set of eyes to look me over. Cajsa wasn’t online so I asked Belle Lefavre to pop over and check out my look.

Once we’d agreed that my look was clean and sound and as Jackson Vantelli put it “Aren’t you doing accessories today? Why are we helping you?”  I popped over to the set to start the rehearsal process for what is really an excellent little show.

I’d like to thank Angie Mornington for her endless patience with me as I muddled about trying to figure out what she wanted and how to get it and to provide her with all she needed to make my very short time on the show just fly by. She was fantastic to work with, and I was really honored to be asked. You were completely impressive and truly helped to put me at ease – I can’t thank you enough.

I should also thank Autumnfoxx Sutherland whose name I probably just butchered but who helped me to understand skype when I had never used it before and made the entire technical side completely painless.  Thanks lady!

And I cannot forget Belle Lefavre and Tricky Boucher for the beautiful skin I wore that night from Belleza. It was really thoughtful and much appreciated. Thank you both.

I suppose that last of all I should thank Cajsa, who helped me learn how to fashion blog as I’d never really seen one when I started blogging here (yes I’ve done a lot of catching up in the last year) and who helped me learn where to shop and introduced me to this particular facet of the pixel world.

No matter what she or anyone else says, I’m Robin to her Batman.

And that will never change.
