Well, actually, I am just wearing Elate’s dress, but what the hey. Now, I know this dress has been blogged before. I have seen it at least three times, but…you know, I am not so vain that I think every single person who reads fashion blogs is one of my readers. I am equally certain the other bloggers would never assume they are universally read either. Even the vanity of fashionistas has limits. So if you are someone seeing this for the third time, that’s the downside of dresses as fun as this one.

To be honest, the dress is just a simple sheath. It’s meticulously done with lovely texturing, but yes, a simple black sheath dress. However, it’s dressed up with a lovely neck piece reminiscent of the petal scarves from Japancakes. A quick look, however, will show you they are different in form and complexity. What really moved me with this was the deviation from the expected in coloring the scarf. It’s not red, it’s not pink, it’s a lovely peach. How often does the designer making a black dress reach for a red accent?  The automatic reflex was resisted and the dress is so much more interesting for that.

With it, I wore the Bliensen and MaiTai windchime earrings – with the soft pastels accenting the petals.
