Tree Hugging

Looking at the clear cut can be pretty sad, but over the hill there’s replanting. In fact, you can help support reforestation by going to the Happy Clam Island Reforestation Project and hugging a tree. Hugging a tree for 20 to 30 minutes while you are going through your day’s notes and message will pay to replant one tree. Or, you can just pay a tree directly. Just go and find a healthy uncut tree and give it a hug. It will thank you. And that should make you happy as a clam.

Today’s outfit is a bohemian mashup from Yome Shouju, It’s All Good and Zaara. The skirt is from Yome Shouju’s Jigi dress. I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to wear Zaara’s Maitri jacket with it. To bring it together, I went with the Tank Top from It’s All Good. The bold jewelry from ICon and the belt from UmeMode continue the boho look.

It’s a false stereotype that all tree huggers and environmentalists are makeup free, earth mother types. No one would mistake me for earth mother in this blowpop skin or this House of Heart hair. The hair. I received it as a review copy, but have altered it so much that it seems silly to review other than to say YAY for tintable hair. You know I tint my hair a lot – since I want this dark auburn color and many hair stylists simply don’t make this color. House of Heart is one that doesn’t. So I tint. This one, though, took lots of work because I also tinted the strands or wires that are part of the style. They were silver, now they are gold – better suiting my outfit. And that tells you how I can spend an hour tinting hair. Let’s just say, I wish there were some “Send to back” feature to help a person select the exact prim they want when it’s behind other prims. Doing a dyejob like this one makes me marvel at hair stylist’s patience. Hug a hair stylist today, they work hard.

This you may say, and it is all well and true in RL; but the instant I saw the first photo, I started thinking I was having a flashback to the Seventies. Aside from the heels, you’re doing a serious channeling of the archetype.

    Great for a casual day!
