Mènage á Trois

Well, don’t tell their spouses and partners, but I think that Saschi Vixen of Adam n Eve, Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice and Chance Greatrex of DARE must have had at least a mental mènage á trois because their creations work together so perfectly. When I saw the Adam n Eve Chrome skin I immediately thought of Baiastice more avant designs with a futuristic edge. Putting them together, I knew I wanted a different aesthetic for the poses than the usual and pulled out DARE’s magnificent homage to the art of Robert Longo. I love what the three create together in the pictures I shot at Omega Point. I shot most of the poses in the set if you care to click through to see the rest.

Bold in Baiastice

I always love a good system skirt like the one with this dress from Baiastice. Sadly, many women avoid them becuase they don’t know how to adjust their shape so they think system skirts give them balloon butts. Well, technically, I guess system skirts do give you balloon butt, but if you shrink your butt before hand, it’s no biggie. I want to mention this because there’s a great tutorial over at What the Fug? If you avoid system skirts because of butt balloonery, head over there right now!!

I Want to be a Hero! Part V of I ♥ EC Week.

Do you want to feel like a heroine in an historical romance? What are your options? You could go to acting school and get cast is a B-movie. You could track down Fabio and pose for a book cover for the newest bodice-ripper. Or you could click on the folder from Evie’s Closet with the Chimera gown in it.  Much cheaper than acting lessons or plane tickets to Italy or wherever.  Now, if there was ever a bodice made for ripping, look at the sweet sweet romance of the bodice on the Chimera dress.  Riiiiiiiiiip.

Tree?

Naming clothing must get difficult for designers. There’s so many options – naming them after friends, places, animals, objects and inventing names or just being really, really kind and naming them descriptively. For example, this dress could be called glittery green dress with a feather skirt. It could be called Candy Wrapper. However, it is called Tree. Okay, let’s give credit to the designer who actually did name it descriptively Sequined Halterneck Dress Tree Mix. Mix because there are three outfits in the box all the with main color being green and all using the same green skirt, though there is also a black skirt option without the bright green tips. It makes me smile, because even though trees are green, nothing about this makes me think of trees. Neon, show girls, burlesque, bars, dance halls, gambling, dancing, les Folies Bergere, the Moulin Roughe, the Golden Nugget. Yes, it makes me think of lots of things, but not trees. Still, isn’t it adorable? and when you realize that the set includes two other similar outfits with just a slightly different color emphasis – it’s such a deal.

Fashion Explorer

So I went shopping yesterday, exploring wonderful little shopping sims such as Olni Estates, Japan Canvas, Midnight Requiem and Retrology. Hard-working fashionista on the prowl – that was me, looking for new stores and new outfits all in the service of fashion and fun. And as I hopped along the grid, this outfit came into shape, starting with the skirt and the cotton top, both from MNK.

Agent Provacateur

A friend on Plurk mentioned being a bit tired of multi-layered outfits on the feed – which given she’s from Texas makes perfect sense to me. However, living in a place that goes from chilly to steamy in the course of a day, I love me some layers. Besides, I feel an ornery streak coming on and want to tweak her nose a bit…even if she did give me at atta’girl today. What can I say, I am a provacateur.

My Precious

I was wandering around on Saturday, popping into stores in Istanbul and saw this store called My Precious that was filled to the rafters with ballgowns – beautifully made, luscious ballgowns like this one in Champagne, though perhaps butter creme is a more accurate description. It’s not a color that’s often featured and I fell for it.
