So I’m still working my way, SLOWLY, through all the gifts from the VIP hunt and trying to patronize the retailers who participated due to their overwhelming giftiness. At almost NO distance into the list (like umm, # 2 or #3) I hit Naeko and I’ve been STUCK there.
Sigh. I just don’t DO neko. I don’t like it. I don’t dislike it on YOU, as a matter of fact I’ve got a couple of friends who rock various degrees of neko at ANY given time. And it can be cute on them. But me, no. I’d say it’s not my role play but it’s deeper than that. I sort of have a weird aversion – I don’t want to be a neko any more than I want to be a mech.
It just doesn’t do it for me…….AT ALL.
So I’ve been dithering and I swear to GOD I’ve been single handedly driving up their traffic numbers repeatedly going to Naeko and desperately trying to decide what I could buy and what I could DO with it, given my girly-princess, Barbie-wanna- be- brat nature.
I’m an addict at picking up little cocktail dresses of various ilk. Imagine my delight when Miffy started making them in such fun colors and tweaks of diversity for our place, Don’t Ask. Continue reading →
I have three stories all related to this post. The first is that from the moment I saw this dress from Casa del Shai, I HAD to have it and dress up like Tina Turner. Why?
When I was three my grandma asked me who was going to be for Halloween. I said I wanted to be that lady in the red dress. She smiled down at me indulgently and said,”Who?” So I said “You know – dat lady that SINGS and dances around in that red dress!” Again, thinking I’m so cute, she says “Who honey?” At which point I apparently started shaking and shimmying and belting out a three year old’s version of PROUD MARY.
Yes, I wanted to be Tina Turner. You can imagine how well that went over in a conservative, white-bread midwestern household. Personally I wish we had it on tape.
Sometimes I buy impractical things that I do not need for any reason.
Such as dresses composed entirely of sequins. I gotta confess when I saw this dress at Dolly Rock I truly had to run over and pick it up. It’s just such an OUT THERE dress…….cut down to THERE…..tight all around THERE…….with fun photosourced sequin texturing all over. Continue reading →
This dress was a group gift from Alchemy a while back, and I immediately thought BIRTHDAY PARTY DRESS! A good friend was having a birthday party in SL and it was great, I slipped it on and headed over.
Only to realize the party was over and I’d missed it. AND NO ONE GOT TO SEE ME IN MY CUTE PARTY DRESS!
Holiday Party Season is rolling down the pike. Have you started shopping? HAVE YOU? Good grief….me neither – not REALLY. I need to get it together. Fast, because with Halloween rolling up uber-fast you KNOW how quickly all the big fun events start happening. Luckily for me, I do happen to know a couple of really top notch designers who help keep me from dressing like a total slag.
I am speaking of the lovely Kunglers of course. If you haven’t been to their store yet – check’em out. Besides offering a quality freebie on a regular basis, they have a really tremendous RANGE of designs. Looking for something casual and relaxed? They’ve got this. Or some really lovely lingerie that won’t break your bank? Try this.Something really femme but dateworthy? Literally – the range is there, from very fancy evening event to causal romp with friends…….which is why I always am so excited to see what is new from Kunglers. Continue reading →
Through the mirror of my mind
Time After Time
I see reflections of you and me………
Happiness you took from me
And left me alone With only memories
This new Reflections Dress from Digit Darkes is so elegant yet so overpoweringly sentimental, I immediately started singing the old Supremes song when I put it on. This is a dress for a night of elegance and romance. I am wearing “Festival” and the name belies the depth of the dress. It’s bold feathery skirt and elegant feminine bodice are a visual contrast that is even more emphasized by the drop waist. Continue reading →
