It’s spooky season, my favorite time of year. Black cats, spiders, ghosts and ghouls are some of my favorite things so you can imagine my joy on an every day basis as I wander the grid in October.
LOGO gave away a free female and male head (just join the group) recently so I ran over to pick them up (yes both why not) and I have to admit – it’s really rather lovely. I hadn’t been there before.
I stopped by a market Cajsa recommended. It’s a lovely city that is a bloggers paradise. So much to use here for backdrops. It’s called You and ME.
Plus it’s a lovely little city that I am now going to visit regularly – it’s a great place to shop for my grid life.
I spent my shopping trip tweaking this new new Logo head. I did this and that and the everything and I “think” I finally turned her into her Gidgiest self.

I decided to share off my ennui with some good old fashioned planning. I figured if I force myself to do things on a schedule It might help drive away some of the fatigue I seem to be belaboring under. I’m feeling rather excited so – this might just work! Who knows?

We did it. We got past the midweek hurdle. Personally it was a struggle but I am struggling in general to ever get anything done these days. The ennui or laziness that seems to own me is pervasive. I’m trying to fight it but, the struggle is real.
I probably just need to go shopping.

I didn’t start off my day planning to be a lazy Monday, but I think my relaxing weekend was too relaxing. I couldn’t get myself motivated AT ALL so then, I just decided to do some day drinking.
Luckily, my favorite bar tender was on duty.

It was a Monday Martini kind of day, I thought, and truly, alliteration in your cocktail choices is a sign of civilization isn’t it? I think so.
Rainbow Rooms is a perfect spot for cocktails, day or night. Now, I think I need a nap.

Puzzles, Games and Bunnies with some Chinese takeout
I decided this past weekend to jump headfirst back in to my SLife, whereas prior I’ve been just dallying here and there. I’ve blasted my way through new brands, gotten out of my comfort zone, tried things I would NEVER have bothered with in the past.
In short – I finally feel at home again in this pixel world. I’m extremely excited about it.
One thing I decided to do while I am playing with new things is start dragging out OLD skins. One of those great features of BOM is the ability to make everything old new again. I have HUGE regrets that I trashed my old LEAGUE skins when applier HUDS became the rage. Why did I trash LEAGUE? I don’t know. I trashed a few brands, Curio, and some others, and my sadness that they are lost to me forever is huge.
One thing I learned, by dragging these skins out and slapping them on a mesh head via BOM is this. They did not age well. I would say 75% of my old skins are very OMG WTF WTF NO NO NO. It’s sort of like that. The colors are just off, or not current. The look is too harsh. Sometimes they don’t stretch across mesh properly and it’s all just wrong.
But every once in a while an old brand reminds me how I loved them, once upon a time. Long since gone is Tuli – that maker of delicate, lovely skin. An old friend once described Tuli as making the “most kissable lips”. I was a such a fan girl, once upon a time.
I will confess that this skin still has a lovely face, but it doesn’t “quite” work with mesh. The line between head and body I can’t seem to overcome it’s always JUST a bit wonky. The thing is though, this skin was never meant for mesh. Mesh wasn’t an itch in it’s daddy’s pants back when I got this skin. So I’ve pulled the old blogger cheat and slapped on a choker necklace and somewhat obscured this.
I promise you, I’ll do the same any time I wear it in the future. Don’t judge me. Wearing Tuli is like running in to an old friend you thought was gone forever.
Another aside, as I ramble a LOT on this Sunday morning, is that I discovered a pose store I really love. As a pose maker, I was always completely reticent to enter any pose shops or use ANYONE’S poses because I didn’t want to be accused of ripping off anyone’s work. Even long after I closed up shop, I still continued this habit and I feel like it’s been pretty limiting. I can’t even remember why I stumbled in to Secret Poses but their Chinese Take Out pose set completed my desire to be eating constantly in SL.
I am a huge fan, and am going to be shopping there more.
And now, it’s Sunday. Whatever should I do on a Sunday? Probably eat….

We didn’t have big plans for a Saturday Night, so we ventured out to a local hang out and plopped down in comfy chairs for some acoustic music and an occasional overpriced coffee. I took my alt Aliana over to The Epiphany to pick up a new wig, and it was quality time with someone I don’t find annoying. I’m DEFINITELY going to be keeping her on deck more – she’s not picky about what color hair comes out of a gacha and not fussy when I dress her out of the 10L box from Izzie’s.
Truly, a low maintenance companion.
I was grateful that we thought to grab food while we were at The Epiphany. A cup of noodles and a slice hit the spot as we wound down back at home. Belliseria at dawn is really lovely.
We are going to end up sleeping away Sunday, I’m sure of it.

Well I wasn’t up to fighting the crowds for Black Friday craziness but I will tell you this, free pig from Schadenfreude at SaNaRae got me dressed.
In fact, I rolled around and picked up all of the gifts – there were some good ones! I did a wee bit of shopping too, but not toooo much, I’m a girl on a budget.
My other favorite gift are these adorable glasses – they have a snow ON or snow OFF option, and several texture choices. Very thoughtful, fun gift!
Lipgloss so shiny an intergalactic princess would envy
I’m still riding the BakesOnMesh train pretty hard. Today I’m wearing skin from TULI – that vintage skinner who doesn’t create any more. I kinda love being back in to my old skins – I’m so glad i never trashed most of them.
Ingenue’s Lisette dress comes in more colors than the rainbow. This is melon. I added Izzie’s Sheer Tights, one of the best investments ever.
I am always fascinated by how people think of and describe Second Life. Some people say it’s a game and some say a virtual form of social media. I think of it as a community center with infinite rooms for infinite communities to grow and develop. It’s like yeast, fermenting creativity and community.
When I put on the gorgeous bikini from Zaara, I immediately wanted to take pictures on the beach. I popped on over to The Trace Too and was immediately reminded of one of the reasons I stopped logging into Second Life. It seems to me once I put on my mesh body, hands, feet, head, hair, clothing, accessories, and a pose hud, I could not move. I took one picture and then spent about 2 hours trying to reposition the camera. I gave up and went back to my prim in the sky.
There are people who are too good for mainland, who find the allure of the privately held islands close to their heart. There are some who are in love with the new Linden homes , and who can blame them they are adorable. As for me I’ve returned to the Mainland, and I’m finding that it’s really not the chaos I remember. A little 1024 in a snowy land is proving to be a cozy choice for this busy girl.
I might be lucky that none of my neighbors have put up GOTH SEX CASTLES as some are wont to do around here. My next door neighbor DOES have up those ridiculous Pink Pony ban lines.
Pro-tip, if you furniture is 2010 hideous there is no chance I’m coming traipsing through your house. No no no. You don’t need the ban lines. Also, your ban lines don’t prevent me from camming in to SEE your 2010 furniture or any other shenanigans. So really, all you’ve done is be ugly by putting those up and forcing me to look at them. LUCKILY Gogo told me how to NOT have to see them so I’m happy now.
The real win is that my friend Putrid is my other neighbor and so we can pop in on each other as much as we like. THAT is awesome.
I picked up the lingerie at the Pure Poison marketplace sale for 1L – and can we just say it’s more not there than there? Woo my modesty! I’ll stay seated, thank you.
