One Bad Pixel released a new mini-collection with a lot of wardrobe basics and this fabulous slip dress. I love dresses like these, light-weight with body-skimming fabrics that float gently, falling on your curves lightly and moving with your body. The large floral print is lush and the colors are so tempting and delicious. Of course, with the mesh made by SLink’s Siddean Munro and the textures created by Adam n Eve’s Sachi Vixen, they are bound to be well made, beautifully fitted and textured. Continue reading →
I went to bed shoeless, wondering what shoes would work with this breezy new dress from One Bad Pixel. But morning came and I had an epiphany.
Never doubt the power of a blogger who creates clean, memorable images. This morning, I work up and my first thought was – “G Field, that’s where I’ll go. Gogo always wear’s G Field and they’ll work great.” Continue reading →
I have to head back home later today but didn’t want to go without one more dip in the gorgeous waters here. I brought with me a “not new” yet “still awesome” swim suit from One Bad Pixel, the ringed bikini. It’s perfect for swimming or just being pretty.
FaMESHed opened yesterday, showcasing another collection of excellent original mesh creations including this gorgeous top from Zaara. Designer Zaara Kohime draws from her country’s traditions in this draped top with its rich brocade embellished with gold embroidery. She released this in both gold and silver options and in a rainbow of bright and muted color.
I pulled out some old cigarette pants from One Bad Pixel. I love the sheen in these pants and how that picks up the metallic threads in the top. The shoes are from Deco – with bold black glitter giving me some head to toe sparkle.
Speaking of sparkle, this updo from Exile for FaMESHed is stunning. I love the stray wisps and the suggestion of movement they convey. It’s a bold, wild style with just the perfect amount of disarray. To finish off, I added some simple, bold jewelry from Baiastice and the always classic Faith from PXL Creations.
Starting today at 3 PM, there will be a weekend fundraising party to keep Rouge, that amazing red woman, alive and well and a destination spot on the grid. Rouge is not just the home sim for Codebastard Redgrave, or Codie, but it’s also a wonderful terraformed sculpture and a fabulous venue for events. Codie has been generous over the years, allowing folks to have parties and events at her club for no charge and over time a wonderful community of people have come to think of Rouge as a home away from home.
Many of those people are going to do their best to save Rouge with DJ’ed parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and by donating fun rouge items whose proceeds go to support Rouge. For example, the poses used in this post are all I poses by Status and all proceeds go to the support of Rouge sim.For complete details about the event, see here.
Lost Angel made a fabulous Dark Alley couple’s pose set for Vintage Fair. It’s one that evokes Sam Spade and Brigid O’Shaughnessy and love, greed, betrayal and all those other old-fashioned values of the noir detective. Happily, I was able to still use the poses and just delete the one I was not using at the time. I did think about inviting someone to come pose, but figured that would just make me crash – since that was the way my viewer was behaving.
One of Second Life’s oldest indie music clubs, The Velvet, moved this week and there’s a huge party this weekend to celebrate and raise funds to pay for that transition and keep the club going. There will be music from 9 AM to 11 PM Saturday and Sunday and all the tips will go to the club. The Velvet has been playing great indie music for over five years and hope to keep going strong under the ownership of Maht Wuyts who has managed the club for the last year. The new location is here. I will be DJ’ing early Sunday morning – at 9 a.m. – a strange hour, I know, but then I DJ’ed at 6 AM for SL9B, so this is certainly better timing than that. If you can’t make my set, I hope you can make another – the music at The Velvet is always a great mix so you are sure to enjoy it.
There’s a lovely variety of braids and pony tails at Hair Fair this year, though it feels like fewer than past years, or perhaps my computer is crashing less while I shoot. I did have to reduce my head size to fit the pony from LaViere, but it’s such a beautiful pony tail it was well worth it. I put the saved shape for that head in the LaViere folder to have it handy in the future. The retro chic Magdalen from Lelutka doubles as an updo when you remove the pony piece. The fabulous adornments in the Exile pieces can be removed, allowing you to wear the hair plain if you like. There were a few hairs I tinted a bit as their red was too bright for me. The other sets are A to Z, but I decided a Z to A might be a good option – just to be fair in case folks get tired before the end of the slide show.
