Moon Love

But even when the moon looks like it’s waning…it’s actually never changing shape. Don’t ever forget that. -Ai Yazawa

That quote seems perfect for Moon Amore, the store that released this lovely outfit at Collabor88 this month. It seems no matter the event, you can always recognize Moon Amore for the fresh, feminine styles released. There’s a daintiness that is emblematic in every release.

You’ve Lost Your Damn Mind

The age old conversation about absurd requirements for bloggers never seems to end. I was having a conversation with my girl Sasy and we were once again clucking about the weird measures and expectations people seem to be obsessed with.

The other side of the conversation also seems to be that everyone and their brother thinks they can blog because it’s easy and free stuff, at least that’s the tagline. Of course if you ever blogged for any amount of time, you’d know that isn’t the case. It’s work, it’s a commitment and it actually take some effort. Continue reading

Adam n Eve n Things For (the) Fall

Fall is sweeping the US and most of us not on the upside down part of the earth. My typist had taken a much needed brain break and had left me to my own designs for quite a while but luckily the cozy good things at Collabor88 this month kept me warm and also quite pretty.

Among the other great things that have happened in SL, one of my favorite skinners Sachi Vixen released appliers for Catwa called MORGANA. I’m wearing her tone called TA – or as I like to call it, pasty white girl. I like the options she gives with her appliers, but I wish her HUD was bigger – I can’t actually read any of the words on my screen. I just click till i sort out what they are. That doesn’t matter in the end when the result is this pretty. Continue reading

Be like a peacock and dance with all your beauty

Be like a peacock and dance with all of your beauty.

Peacocks are glorious creatures, peahens are so dowdy by their side. Aren’t we lucky that both the male and the female of our species can, if they choose, be as gaudy as a peacock or as subtle as a peahen? I am going for the gaudy side today with this gloriously embellished butterfly “Glasswings” dress from Reverie for The Arcade.

Random and Fashiony

Sometimes while searching for props I run into things I used to love and had forgotten. This was one of those days. I’d pulled out several marquee items as props to shoot and there was my big G.

I have to put that out!

I’m celebrating more Collabor88 goodness today. Moon Amore makes dreamy, whimsical dresses that are always lovely and fun. This soleil dress from Collabor88 this month is a perfect pickup for warming days in our SL. Bring some sun!  Continue reading

We Meet Again Sewing Machine…

Yesterday I played. I logged in and Sasy, Whimsy and Mavi were making the rounds of the big shopping events and so instead of settling in for some serious work I went FA LA LA LA LA shopping. I couldn’t help it. SHOPPING WITH THE GIRLS IS MORE FUN.  After we had emptied all the events of all the items worth having (which was all of them from what I could tell) I had to run off and they went on to further adventures.  Continue reading

We Are Made of Star-Stuff

We are made of star-stuff.
“The amazing thing is that every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements – the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution – weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way they could get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.”

― Lawrence M. Krauss, A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather Than Nothing
We are made of star-stuff.

Carl Sagan said we are all star-stuff and shooting these pictures for this post made me think of him. The keke glitter constellations and the anc. mist clouds made me think of galaxies and nebulae. The windswept magical dreaminess of the Papillon dress from Moon Amore only added to that. It comes with a color change hud that allows wearers to choose colors for the bodice, skirt and embellishments. This particulate texture has a field of clouds that inspired the direction I took with the shoot. The fluttering of butterflies are optional. You can wear the skirt with no butterflies, with just the butterflies on the skirt or with the long kite tail of butterflies. As you can see, I went for maximum butterfly. The outfit also comes with a gift of balloons, but left them out. The balloons come in a range of pastel colors to coordinate with the dress.
