Sometimes It’s Lonely

Sometimes I’m very solitary and that’s by choice. I guess I need more excitement in my SL but I love my quiet Saturday evenings at home, with nothing but me and my thoughts.

I can do whatever and no one cares, which is kind of a relief from the burdens of responsibility isn’t it. It’s kind of the best sort of relaxation. Continue reading

Great Minds Thinking Alike

All the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. Lewis BlackGidge is my favorite person in Second Life and among my favorites in my first life, too. So, it’s no surprise we sometimes think alike and dress alike. Our mutual love for this dress from Nylon Outfitters was unplanned, but you know, I thought about reshooting with a different color, but I changed my mind. I like the black one best, and really, it’s a case of great minds thinking alike. By the way, if you like this dress, get yourself over to Collabor88 now because it’s the last day.

All the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. Lewis BlackI don’t like candy corn, but these critters crack me up. One of my favorite items from The Arcade this month. It’s amazing how they with their simplistic form still manage to express emotions. There’s some popcorn for all the drama from Lost Junction and a fun plastic table and stools from PLAAKA – all at The Arcade.

Winter Descends – And A Giveaway….

Days of being too cold are on me full time now and I confess I feel a little resentful. I love to bundle up and bake and have winter fun but I get so tired of being bone cold. But Christmas is coming and that’s something not to dawdle at – I’ve got so much to do to get ready!! Continue reading

Meeting Commitments

It’s only day 2 of Blogtober and I’m fueling up with soup while I work on editing photos. I’m ready for the challenge…and Sophia is gonna have to work hard because I am pretty competitive. I was going to make it easy on her and take today off…but no.  Continue reading

Mint Upon Us

I’m lounging about on a beautiful spring day. Collabor88 is going to be closing down for the March Round shortly – but you’ve got a hot minute to get in there and grab up the stuff you liked. There are so many great spring pick ups – it will be a shame to let them slip by you. Continue reading

Flutter & Flow

A book, a bottle of wine, a sunny day

It’s a beautiful sunny day in Gidgewood, so I popped across the river to Gidge’s back forty and settled under Trompe Loeil’s marvelous outdoor hangout with some deer and rabbits as one does. I brought along some wine and grapefruit which don’ go together if you eat them at the same time, but are fine for eating and then drinking. My lovely dress is from Stories & Co by Flowey for Collabor88. I interviewed the designer Flutter Memel for this month’s issue of VSN. You can read the article here.

Cosmic Spider

Helena Stringer - IOF - Cosmic Spider - 1.

I’ve seen belts as a skirt, but never belts as a top. I’m not even sure what to call this, it sort of looks like a corset as well. I am wearing it as is, but I could see this with a shirt underneath, maybe something a pirate would wear, or some sort of warrior maiden. This is the new offering from Plastik, to be released at the mainstore. There are 5 galactic colourations, which have to be my favs of the series. There is also a large assortment of other colours and patterns, so it is worth a look, if you want a beltstraptopcorsetthingy.

Seraseeya, Watcher of the River of Souls

Helena Stringer - IOF - Seraseeya - 1

Seraseeya was an unusual creature. With a foot in both worlds, she was neither human, nor fully a beast. Her mother was a harpy who had the unfortunate accident of picking a human male as a mate. We wont go into details, but the result was Seraseeya, and her 3 other sisters.

Things were not too bad to start. The Harpy Broodmothers could tell there was something a bit different about them, they had funny feet and they lacked claws on their hands. There was not a feather on their head, nor much hair to speak of.  They let them be, thinking they would grow into their features.

As the years passed, it became apparent that there was indeed something wrong, they looked more human, than harpy. This would not do.
