The new mesh lips from PXL Creations are called SweetLips, which immediately made me think of this song my dad used to sing at barn dances.
Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone Let’s pretend that we’re together all alone I’ll tell the man to turn the juke box way down low And you can tell your friend there with you he’ll have to goContinue reading →
At the end of a long day shopping and shooting in the studio, I have to confess I require some caffeine. It’s probably why I put my coffee station right next to my door – so I could grab a cup coming or going. If immediate access to coffee is wrong, I don’t want to be right. Continue reading →
Well another chapter of Shooz Nooz is coming at you, and I’ve got good stuff this time. I’m kicking it off with these boots from GLAMISTRY that are HUD driven and therefore you can make them YOURS by customizing all the bits as you like. I really love this in shoes. I know it’s not always practical but isn’t it fun when it is?
Next up are a pair of necessary loafers from DUH, I wouldn’t mind these in real life they’d be cute but great for bad weather. Continue reading →
One of my favorite groups back “in the day” was Bettina Tizzy’s Not Possible in Real Life (NPiRL). Tizzy gloried in the freedom of Second Life® creation – unshackled from the laws of Euclid and Newton – free to create anything they could imagine. Of course, Second Life has its own laws that result in some things common in real life becoming Not Possible in Second Life. Something quite simple in real life can become very complicated, even impossible, in Second life. One of those things is fringe.
Fringe is one of the fall’s hot fashion trends and promises to be an even hotter item in the spring. However, the physics of SL are not fringe-friendly. Of course, we could have flexi-fringe, but after two years of not having our clothes fall through our bodies, I think that is not the solution we want. We know from reports that flexi-mesh is not even under consideration right now. So I am excited to see Sunami Beck of Emery look for a work around. It’s not perfect, perfect is impossible, but it is a valiant effort that works pretty well overall. This fringe dress is a la page fashion – and it looks great. You can find it at Collabor88 with a bundle of coordinating loose sweaters like the on I am wearing. Continue reading →
Vixen Thibideau has launched a new EVENTS blog (I am spelling her name probably) and it’s called Eloquence SL. I’m always interested in GOOD events coverage, I enjoy SERAPHIM but I think that more GOOD coverage is a positive thing for shoppers and bloggers alike. Eloquence is currently having a launch event where many of the designers you know and love have put out free gifts, at the DEJA BREW cafe.
Everyone has their own method for naming their products in Second Life. I tend to go to the WORD OF THE DAY from OXFORD or WEBSTER. Sometimes folks on PLURK will head over there and say “HELP ME NAME THIS PRODUCT.” That happened on the 29th, as I sat in McDonalds. Lindsey Warwick sent up the call for help naming a new pair of shoes.
I was sitting in McDonalds. I took a look at my receipt, and answered her with the first word I saw. VALIDATION. YAY ME SHE LIKED IT! Continue reading →
Yellow is underrated on blondes. I think striking yellows just accentuate beautiful blondes though. SLINK released a one shoulder dress in many colors, of which yellow is one, which is really an understatement.
A one shoulder dress doesn’t really express how necessary this dress is. It should be called NECESSARY ONE SHOULDER DRESS. Continue reading →
I confess that my Friday night outfit started with the shoes, and everything else had to fall in line above them. Blacks and greys won out, spun together regardless of pattern, which works just fine. The new shoes from L.Warwick are out for LeaMetallique as well as sassy new hair from ploom from district 5 – perfect for casual looks this weekend. Continue reading →
I know Gidge blogged this dress from Fission a couple weeks ago. I had already put it on and styled it before I saw her blog post and I have not had the energy to change clothes. I do plan to change clothes sometime today. It’s been two weeks and even pixel clothing can get stale.
Sometimes life can change “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” and nothing is the same after that. Two weeks ago, that happened to my sister when she learned she had breast cancer. She made me promise not to freak out or worry, so I tried, but I did not succeed. When we all lost my brother to cancer; it was easier. I always assumed he would get cancer from chain smoking all his life and that’s what happened. But my sister does not smoke, does not drink except for a glass of wine now and then and, as a nutritionist herself, has always favored a healthy diet and exercise at a local gym. In essence, she did all the right things and still got got dealt the cancer card.
