Sonatta Morales has five special releases for Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week which opens on May 16th. I always look forward to Fashion Week. There are always more innovative and avant garde releases for Fashion Week, as though the event challenges the designers to do their best work of the season. Here is the official schedule for Fashion Week. There are 16 fashion shows coming up – a great week full of fashion.
Last year Whimsy Winx and Sasy Scarborough released on of their collaborations called Papier de Mode. It came with two pose sets, one with these pieces of paper with different bits of text and one blank. For fun, I added the Fashion Week logo and a few words to the prop. I love it when a prop can be modified. Continue reading →
I had some fun over at SAUCE, the new installation at LEA 25. The LEA sims are provided by the Linden Endowment for the Arts to allow artists a chance to create big installations to share with the SL community. SAUCE is an installation from Maya Paris and it is a fun, colorful, and surreal place to explore.
I was ready for anything in this fun outfit featuring two items from Baiastice. The skirt was released at Collabor88 this month and the top is from 2013. The skirt was released with two coordinating tops, but I thought it would be fun to find something different to wear with it. Generally speaking, if items are made by the same designer, they will be the same size and have the same natural waist and so on, so when looking for something to coordinate with mesh clothes, it’s easiest to start with the same designer. The skirt is adorable and comes in a range of prints and solids.
It’s true, all that glitters is not gold. Sometimes it is bronze, silver or platinum. And sometimes it is a bit of all at once as in this gorgeous top from Fashionably Dead. The peplum top is available at Collabor88 where the theme this month seems to be proving that glitter comes in every color. I dressed it up with the bottom of the Kamille dress from Countdown. One of the advantages of combining mesh with system layers, as Countdown has, is the ability to mix and match which makes me happy. Continue reading →
I play a classic jazz set every Sunday morning from 9 to 11 AM SLT at The Velvet. Usually I focus on the oldies from Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Zoot Sims, John Coltrane and many others. I have a strong preference for the old jazz greats but the old jazz forms are still powerful influences on today’s jazz. With the year end upon us, I am doing a special set looking back at the fine jazz of 2012. I hope you can swing by.
Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice has created a fabulous dress perfect for any jazz chanteuse. I wish I could sing well enough to be a chanteuse of anything. However, I am perfectly dressed to sing. The heavy silk charmeuse drapes as beautifully as a caress.
