Just Red

This outfit mixes a corset from Deadly Nightshade with a system skirt from Little Rebel. I love the system skirt – especially since I made myself a skirt shape to reduce the big booty bounty so common in the regular shape with a system skirt.  Little Rebel is the epicenter of system skirt magnificence and smart fashionistas will make an occasional foray there to ensure they have a a few of the highwaisted system skirts to mix and match with short tops and corsets.

Ivalde's Blogger Challenge Pt. 2

You and I all know that Ivalde’s clothing is more versatile than the word vintage implies. Now I won’t say you can wear any Ivalde item anywhere – that would be extreme. For example, I would not wear this dress fishing, but I would wear it dancing at the disco. to a cocktail party, at a fundraising event and to a concert. I could wear it today and change the belt and I could have worn it a decade ago – and that’s what classic means.

From Silks to Chic

I was recently passed a couple of outfits from Riviera Couture as a thank you for some dresses I blogged awhile back. One was a lovely set of silks called Bollywood with a full bodice, but flowing silks for a skirt. It was gorgeous with a beautiful teal and royal blue brocade bodice and a gorgeous teal and cerise stola, it’s just the skirt was simply not my style. But then it occurred to me to pair it with a regular skirt and the result was better than I could have expected.

Freebie Love

posted by Gidge Uriza

Okay I don’t have a song.  This one is just a quick but I wanted to show you some great free stuff, both hunt and NON Hunt.

The clothes are from Merlynn’s Closet which is new to me. I TPd over on a notice of a free outfit to check them out and I’m really digging the casual pieces she gave away (pictured). The top was available in multiple layers (YAY! GOOD CREATOR!)  with different options and the pants are a nice rich texture that has good details. So YAY! I’m not sure these are still free but their quality warrants a visit! I’m totally going back. Continue reading

Learning to Knit

When I trotted out the Learning Suit from Paper Couture yesterday, I said the top would be wonderfully useful for other outfits because it has such a rich beautiful texture. Here’s a sample. The boat neck of the Learning Suit shirt works beautifully with this cowl neck sweater I got at the huge Celestial Studios sale. Now I knew I just had to find a perfect little skirt to go with.

I went looking for ghosts and found candy

Okay, they are having altogether too much fun at KatatOnik this Halloween. I mean, look! Look! Candy Corn!  Yes, it’s adorable, darling, cute in all the right ways. And somehow they have me wearing candy corn — which is, I believe, a blob of hard corn syrup with food coloring. Well, even though I would never eat it, it is darling to wear. This was the find on the Ghost Hunt as is this entire outfit – a completely ghost hunt styling.

Hibiscus Dreams

The lone hibiscus

waits for the sun to bloom:

morning’s first offering

Ram Krishna Singh

I am sure I am not alone in excited anticipation when I hear that Eshi Otawara has made a new gown.  I know with certainty that it will be creative, unique and lovely. Sure, there are some for which I merely admire the creativity and unique creative vision without having any desire to own it myself. However, more often than not, her dresses thrill me with their feminine beauty and wild leaps of imagination.  Her newest, Hibiscus Dream is such a gown.

Blowing in the Wind

Oh, I don’t know what’s more exciting in thsi picture, the blowing model hair from ::69:: or the marvelous jewelry from Genesis. However, I have worn this jewelry a few times, so let’s linger on the hair. Can you believe I didn’t even have to tint it? I did have to move two pieces so they didn’t come out of my face funny, but that’s it. I love the wild, chaotic flow of the hair which well mimics the whirlying wildness of the wind.

Treasures Found

I only spent a few minutes at Sari’s treasure hunt looking for the big balls of yarn, but was thrilled with my find – a lovely Indian print outfit featuring this blouse with a different  skirt. After I put it on, I felt like exploring and went to ShowCase, the new search feature that replaces the Most Popular Places tab. It’s a great feature and has lead me to new places like the balloon ride – which crosses something like 20 sims and takes 30 minutes. Continue reading
