Purple Monkey Dishwasher

may21_021

Struggling to come up with a name for this 2451st post was keeping me from getting this done, but I remembered a few months back that someone had asked for blog post title suggestions. AS you can see, such suggestions need not make sense. This one came from Darkley Aeon, the Guerilla Avatar. I guess if I had a purple monkey, I would train him to do the dishes. Doing dishes is one of my least favorite tasks, mainly because I am one of those people, you know the ones that get water down the front of the shirt and on the floor while washing a plate, a cup and a spoon. I can splash my face and get soap in my eye when doing a sinkful of dishes which is why I tend to wash dishes 6 times a day – everytime I dirty a dish. So, if you have a purple monkey in need of a home, send him my way. I am sure he could wash dishes better than me. But could he style this outfit? I don’t think so. I think any monkey that allowed himself to be purple-ized would just make a hash out of styling anything but rainbows and butterflies.

I went over to Milvus to investigate ater reading about it in the Destination Guide. It looks amazing and I will definitely go back for more picture taking soon. It was near the top of the list in the Destination Guide so I was not the only one checking it out. It was quite busy – so I found a quiet corner for my snaps and stored the bookmark with a promise to go back soon.

Glistening, Glittering Gown

Sascha Frangelli is known grid-wide for her gowns that are always extravagantly embellished, rich in detail and in options. You can wear anything from a mini cocktail to a door-bursting battleship gown.  For me, I chose the narrow, sleek skirt.

Crazy Arms

One of the hallmarks of Paper Couture is bold design. Strangely enough, there’s just a bit of hedging the bet with this gorgeous Roaring Green Ruffles dress as they offer the sheer bodice in sheer black or sheer black with polka dots, but seriously, we have to choose the dots, don’t we?  Without the dots, this is a lovely dress, with the dots, it’s a lovely and dashing dress. So let’s go for the Crazy Arms.

It's Not White

Chance Greatrex of DARE sent me some poses as a lovely Christmas present – a new set called White. I asked his inspiration and he said the poses were inspired by the color white – that he wanted a couture elegance that was clean and high fashion. That’s from memory, so it’s just a paraphrase. I thought the poses certainly achieved his goal.  However, I was wearing this at the time and informed him that his poses work perfectly with red and black as well.

Rouge et Noir

The colors of Modern Gypsy’s new winter collection are red, black and white. They are such powerful colors – passionate and bold and perfect, of course, for the strong patterns and shapes of these designs. I confess to absolute infatuation. This dress is particularly entrancing. It’s a beautiful and elegant cocktail gown – yet the top layer of the skirt fabric makes me think of light reflecting on a roadway. The way the white seems to glitter out of focus like the lights reflected on a wet street.  So much beauty – and yet evoking such a gritty image.

Back to the Winter Garden

There are five flowers in Modern Gypsy’s Winter Garden. In this picture I am wearing the Rose, another exuberant bouquet of dancing prims.

You can contrast that to the more structured architecture of Asian Lily whose exuberance is expressed through the riotous fabric texture.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

And Don’t Hurry Back! Some days the constant dreary rain can get wearing, knowing that it may be weeks becfor a patch of sunlight peeks out from behind the clouds. The only solution, then, is some fresh air and some good full spectrum light bulbs. Of course, looking good never hurts. I went for a little retail therapy at Chai’s new sim to pick up some of her new skins. That would cheer up the gloomiest gus.

More Ghost Hunting

Ooh, I am a terrible ghost hunter. I get stuck and hunt and hunt and hunt and cannot see what is in front of my nose. And I have a special “I’ll get you my pretty” for a few who shall remain nameless so as not to give too broad a hint. My the time I found the ghost with the run-around-and-hide-from-me script I was searching for a bang-my-head-against-the-wall gesture. By the time I found the tinted ghost, I was getting a little green around the gills myself. I imagine these folks tiptoeing around their stores giggling and cackling with glee as they placed the ghosts. Continue reading

I Have Gone Positively Dotty!!!

Conference participants tend to take one of two distinct fashion paths when attending a conference – the hyper-casual or the dressed to kick ass and take names approach. Last night seemed the time for the latter, so I chose a vintage style dress and added a bolero because it was a bit chilly. I truly accentuated the positive in this outfit with the hat, though.
