Gizza released a gorgeous formal gown at The Liaison Collaborative. It comes in rich jewel tones, deeply saturated colors such as this rich ruby red. It has a full, flowering skirt that falls deeply in the back. These skirts are sometimes controversial. Sometimes they are a failure, but when well done, they are beautiful, flashing your legs while still providing the length of formal wear. I kind of think we should name them by how well they work. Hi-lo or waterfall skirts if they work and mullet skirts if they do not.
How does it work? You go to the mainstore and click the redelivery terminal and the update will be sent to you. If you bought the multipack, you will get the whole shebang, the dynamic hands, the idle HUD, and a fifteen pose HUD of static poses. If you bought the mini packs 1, 2, or 3, you will get the dynamic hands, the idle HUD and the static poses that match the set you already bought. It’s a beautiful sunny day in Gidgewood, so I popped across the river to Gidge’s back forty and settled under Trompe Loeil’s marvelous outdoor hangout with some deer and rabbits as one does. I brought along some wine and grapefruit which don’ go together if you eat them at the same time, but are fine for eating and then drinking. My lovely dress is from Stories & Co by Flowey for Collabor88. I interviewed the designer Flutter Memel for this month’s issue of VSN. You can read the article here.
The Fernando gown from Dead Dollz is romance personified. I love the beautiful embroidered tracery of flowers and vines in that soft peach, blue and mint. I love the fitted bodice with the bouffant exuberant squirt and the sheer overblouse. the definition of the belted waistline. It takes so many elements of historical and folk costume and the result is completely modern. It borrows from the baroque to make something minimalist and resolutely of the the now. It’s just great design on every level.
Good Morning girls. I’ve decided not to do Monday today after all. There’s too much shopping to do, my house is a wreck with clothes strewn everywhere and honestly, I should organize my make up I think. Instead I’ve made blender drinks and hit the ocean. I cannot possibly be expected to adult today. It’s out of the question.
I bought a new rafts for chilling in the water from What Next (new to me) and that’s my plan for today.
I love blue drinks, did you know that? I’m OBSESSED with them. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to blue drinks. You can go see it if you look me up, I’m Gidgery on Pinterest. But if you don’t that’s cool too. Again, today I’m getting baked in the sun and just waiting for the burn. I’ll take the burn. I welcome it. Continue reading →
Some of the lovely things presented at Penumbra fashion week this time were bridal gowns. I’m not a big fan usually, so I was intrigued though to see something very understated and elegant from Ever An’ Angel for Penumbra and had to put it on. When I was newer in SL, my friends and I would often put on wedding dresses and run around the grid being mad and silly. This gown seemed to deserve an elegant backdrop. I think I found the perfect place for the SL wedding I won’t have.
It doesn’t have a lot of seating for guests but that’s ok. I might actually bring Gidge back over here for tea and cakes when she’s done working – it’s rather lovely in it’s amazing white wash of light.
There is even a fairytale-like carriage to bring me to the ceremony. Yes, this is a perfect spot.
There are a few more shopping days left of the Pretty In Punk round of Collabor88 and you won’t want to miss it. Look at this gorgeous dress from ISON for this round. It comes in several solid colors and well as two plaids and these gorgeous stripes. I love ISON’s contemporary style, minimalist and fashion forward with just a few details that reflect the designer’s discipline. You will never hear Nina say “it’s over-designed” about anything from ISON because the designer in control. Continue reading →
Once upon a time I made a mad dash to Artilleri because I had to have all of the things. Right about the time I got all the things, mesh came and made all the things I had just gotten obsolete. Or did it? Continue reading →
