Rouge et Noir

The colors of Modern Gypsy’s new winter collection are red, black and white. They are such powerful colors – passionate and bold and perfect, of course, for the strong patterns and shapes of these designs. I confess to absolute infatuation. This dress is particularly entrancing. It’s a beautiful and elegant cocktail gown – yet the top layer of the skirt fabric makes me think of light reflecting on a roadway. The way the white seems to glitter out of focus like the lights reflected on a wet street.  So much beauty – and yet evoking such a gritty image.

They say you lose 45% of body heat through your head…

This Hymn dress from MiaMai makes me smile. At first blush, with that cozy, cuddly hood it looks all warm and snuggly. Then of course, there’s the plunge, or more accurately the two plunges as the back plunges even lower than the front. Let’s just say Mrs. Claus might feel a brisk wind or two. Like all of Shiryu’s creations, this is made with lovingly hand textures that meld into skillfully aligned seams and create a graceful and elegant classic addition to your wardrobe.

Too Sexy For My Skirt

Polina Kaestner has made one of the sexiest, cutest skirts ever!!  It is very sheer and your legs will show – and that’s the point! It has a perfectly discreet pair of matching glitch panties and that is enough to keep embarrassment at bay so long as you don’t have a friend like Gidge who actually sent an IM to the entire fashion bloggers group saying she could see my butt and then sent a slurl inviting people to come see my butt.  However, I was not embarrassed. The skirt is adorable and a few glimpses thanks to my AO isn’t going to upset me. I should have just changed AO’s, but Gidge was having too much fun.  Considering that she was wearing the Lonely Goatherd dress and carrying a goat, I think she really didn’t have a leg to stand on.
