Kunglers has created the perfect hot weather dress, one that has fabulous vents along your back to keep you cool and breezy. Yes, that inset in the back is open an open mesh providing not only the visual interest of different sized dots, but some nice cool breezes on your spine on hot sultry days. It’s been awwhile since I showed you something from Kunglers – perhaps, as I discovered this weekend, because I misfiled everything they sent me last time in my folder of Velentine hunt items that I have nott opened yet. Anyway, the sisters dropped the lovely Adelle blouse and skirt combo on me this weekend and like so many Kunglers outfits, it is replete with extras such as the bangle and pearl necklace I am wearing.
Cajsa took me to Line to check out the boots, but I ended up being mesmerized by the clothes as well. You might not know it, but I have a ridiculous collection of green shirts and sweaters in my RL in shades of this color of green. Continue reading →
What is the price of whimsy? Well, starting tomorrow for the holidays, it’s 1 Linden @ Nix Sands’ wonderfully eccentric clothing store Pixie Pumps, also called XCentricity and XNT. So, when I need to find the store, I look up Nix Sands’ profile just because the name confuses me. The D’Fly Ice Queen are going on sale for just 1 L – and they are worth a 1000 times that in sheer fun and delight.
I was casting around for costume ideas last night, I got the brainstorm to go to Unique Needs. Now, I know it’s not a costume shop, it’s a clothing store for the BDSM subculture and has fashionable clothes for those shoppers. However, in my opinion, if you’re not part of a subculture and dress in the clothing of a subculture, that’s a costume. Besides, when I got there I discovered Unique Needs has a much broader range of clothing that I had assumed…including this romantic, frou-frou dress I am wearing today. Color me surprised and well, there again you see the danger of assumptions.
Cashmere – the must luxurious and sensuous of knits. It is the epitome of YUM and PixelDolls have been doing cashmere right.
But first, let me just say something about PixelDolls because they along with Digit Darkes and Nyte & Day have a special place in my heart. They were the first three stores I shopped at after Gidge rescued me the day I met her and showed me there was more to Second Life than freebie dungeons.
Yes, she rescued me. I was so dumb I walked under a ramp and got stuck and couldn’t figure out why I could not move and this sweet woman said, “I think you are trying to walk through a wall, dear.” Continue reading →
Sometimes the beauty of a dress is so self-evident that any attempt to describe it merely detracts from your pleasure in seeing the designer’s marriage of art and design and her balancing of the challenges of phantom flexi-prims with the demands of fashion. The Kungler Couture Passion of the Black Swan dress by AvaGardner Kungler is exactly that sort of dress. This is a dress that can take your breath away, so just sit back and enjoy the ride.
A panache of fire and black plumes frame your face together with the silver needles and thread of the old song, The Black Swan by Giancarlo Menotti.
The sun is falling and it lies in blood
The moon is weaving bandages of gold
Old black swan where oh where is my lover now
Where oh where is my lover now Continue reading →
I was able to mod my hair last night and move the single offending hair prim out of my cheek. YAY! It took 4 minutes and clicking the move Y- button twenty-two times. NOT SO YAY! And that was with everything going my way. I was lucky that i guessed y-minus right off the bat and didn’t spend any time clicking the other 5 options at all. And of course, if the prim had been behind another prim, i woul have spent 10-20 minutes moving one prim out of the way so I could click on the prim I need to move and then moving the prim in the way back to position. Actually, no I wouldn’t, I would have given up and deleted the hair. Honestly, edit scripts are a poor substitute for being able to edit hair. It’s time-consuming and frustrating. And Damselfly is one of my favorite hair stylists, dagnabbit. But on to more cheerful things like the gorgeous dress from TOSL that I have on. Continue reading →
When I saw the new Seduction dress from Mimikri I began to drool. After mopping up, I popped over to the store and picked up the sexy Seduction in Nude. I added a bit of contrast with tan gloves from Fleur and a stole from Skin Flicks. With the coffee lipstick on the PXL skin, I thought the palette was just about perfect.
