If you have been reading my blog for any significant length of time, you know I am a peach-a-holic. Peach, coral, salmon just are irresistible colors for me. And why not? They look good with every skin tone and flatter everyone in 1st and 2nd life. So, when I went over to check out Stylissimo – after falling in love with the blogger appreciation gifts they sent – and saw some peach in a vendor, well that works like a homing device with a built-in buy button.
Okay, so I went shopping with Cajsa, that week she fell in love with Modern Gypsy. I spied this dress on the wall – and said I was only going to buy it as an homage to Lil Kim. But in fact, if she were still wearing the one-boob pastie style, then of course it wouldn’t be retro chic and I’d have lef t it on the shelf. 🙂
So time went by, and I ended up wearing this to a party at Rouge, after which Cajsa told me “We need to shoot that dress.” Then I replied “But, I was going to go into Tashi Station to pick up some Power Converters…..” (kidding)……… Continue reading →
I am sincerely appreciative of the many freebies and group gifts showered on Second Life’s residents by the clothing designers and creators. Some however, do strive to create group gifts that are in a different class and in that group, Sissy Pessoa is the Gold Medalist. From Grandma’s Closet to Snake Outfits to this lovely new gift this month that includes a chair and two cigarettes in holders for all you smoking AV’s out there. Me, I quit smoking July 8th, so when i took a puff my eyes closed. The next snap would have been me sneezing. : )
I had originally picked out this ensemble for my house party last week, before Alice came along with her mahvelous Peppermint Blue items. So I thought it would be fitting for some time at the lake, since I was in the land of 10,000 lakes. I only saw like 3 lakes, so I’m not sure where they hide the rest of them BUT this peachy fun bikini definitely lends a white sand beach attitude to the mucky lake water. Continue reading →
Silo and I are sometimes considered insanely touristy, both in RL and SL. We like kitsch (aske me about the Elvis shrine at Wang Manor) and touristy fun things. We love to go and DO things, no matter what the cheese factor involved is. This is probably demonstrated best by the fact that when we got married in RL we eloped down in Gatlinburg TN – cheesy kitsch capitol of the USA. Who knows what we’ll do if we ever bother to partner in SL. Continue reading →
There’s the scent of roses in the air – yellow, lemony roses carried by the breeze from the church down the street. It made me want to put on something floral and summery and I thought of this dress right away. From Bianca Foulon, the draping dress in grape is a floral confection with a full skirt tiered by a black lace wrap. I hesitated to wear it before because the neck prim seemed a bit to high and too snug, making me feel like tugging on my collar. I decided to leave off the neck prim this time and wear Japancakes magnificent Wild Petal Scarf. The scarf comes with a color change script and is one of those must-have accessories that can make a dozen outfits zing.
I wish I knew the meaning of the word carrouel – the name of these wonderful sculpted pants from Ce Cubic Effect – so I would know whether my blog title made any sense whatsoever. They are lovely and functional sculpted pants that keep their form while you walk and while you dance. They also come with a dramatic flowing belt scarf. The drama and flair of the pants called out for something equally dramatic to balance them and so I opted for wearing Bianca Foulon’s marvelous Black Collar. Shai Delacroix’s well textured and understated cashmere sweater make a great foil for the more dramatic elements in the outfit. Continue reading →
Maht was DJing at the Garage one night and at a loss for what to wear, I pulled together some oldies and newbies for a fun club ensemble. The skin I picked up at the Velvet Heart hunt on Bianca’s new shopping sim just reminded me too much of the days of slathering my lips with bubblegum lip gloss.
Some of these butterflies are free – a freebie from Baiastice. When I put this lovely, whimsical dress from Biana F on, it struck my how similar in color intensity and detail the butterflies and flowers were to the darling gift from Baiastice and I wondered if they would suit as well as I imagined. Well, I will let you judge for yourself, but I liked it. I liked it even more when I tossed on MiaSnow Myriam’s delicate and fragile Black Dahlia skin. I admit I would not wear it everywhere, but for the right party – I think it’s a great combination.
You can see more photos on my flickr. A more conventional accessorizing of the dress and style notes are after the jump.
