Bandana Day With the Sexiest Swimsuit in Second Life

So reading the newest issue of Sxy2nd I see that readers voted and chose a swimsuit from JustB as the Sexiest Swimsuit in Second Life. I definitely had to check that out. The suit in the photo was white, but I chose the red for my bandana day outfit because, hey, it’s the 4th of July tomorrow.  You are not seeing the sexiest option, that is after the cut and still discreetly photographed…you know me. I had some running around to do, so I covered up a bit with some other super sexy clothes from Exodi.

If you were paying attention last week, you would have popped over to Exodi for the 50% off sale in which 100% of proceeds were to be donated to Make A Wish Foundation in Michael Jackson’s memory. The total raised was 812.99  which is very exciting. While the sale was on, I ran over and picked up just about all the tops she has.

Tryggare kan ingen vara

As many of you have already learned, Neferia Abel is leaving Second Life for several months while  she moves, fulfills her dream of illustrating a children’s book and recovers her health.  An ambitious set of goals and I am sure each and every one of us wish her success in every one and hope for her speedy return. Like many others, I will share a couple favorites today, but first I want to share a  lovely song that suits this heavenly dress and will most likely be familiar to Neferia since there is so much cross-cultural sharing between Norwegians and Swedes. It was my father’s favorite hymn. He was Swedish and it was sung at his funeral – and to perfectly frank, at every funeral on that side of the family. Sometimes I think it’s the only Swedish song everyone still remembers besides Oleanna and Nikolina (believe me they are NOT funeral appropriate.)

Happy Holidays!

Hoping all of you who celebrate Passover or Easter have a wonderful holiday with family, friends and fellowship.  In celebration, I thought I might dress like an easter egg. 🙂 Actually, this is TOSL’s wonderful High Tea dress perfect for the garden party or other celebrations of spring and sunshine. Gidge would also be sending her good wishes but is on holiday.

Sunday Morning Coming Down

Morning @ Embryo - wearing Icing's Vixen in Sapphire.

Rolling Stone, my favorite magazine, gave 14 pages of its latest issue to a profile of one of my favorite singer-songwriters, Kris Kristofferson who is most famous for such great songs as Me & Bobby McGee and Help Me Make It Through the Night. My favorite, though, has always been Sunday Morning Coming Down. In his article, actor-turned-journalist Ethan Hawke, described how when Johnny Cash was first supposed to sing this song on live TV, censors told him he could not say “wishing I was stoned” but that while on the air, he looked at Kristofferson and sang it the way it was written. That song seemd to fit the mood of my shoot at Embryo where I wore the lovely Vixen dress from Icing. I have to thank Bhaio Shan for sending me the landmark – it’s a lovely place, though “it makes a body feel alone.”

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
‘Cos there’s something in a Sunday,
Makes a body feel alone.
And there’s nothin’ short of dyin’,
Half as lonesome as the sound,
On the sleepin’ city sidewalks:
Sunday mornin’ comin’ down.

I Still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For

So a week ago or so, I saw a woman with fabulous medium length hair that she said she got at Analog Dog. I have gone looking several times now and I still haven’t found what I am looking for, but I did find this fab hairstyle that I fell in love with.  I still want to find the other, but isn’t it fun to find something you love while looking for something else?

Simple Chic

It’s easy to pull together a simple, chic look in just a moment’s notice, just have a handy-dandy all-purpose high-waisted pencil skirt on hand. One in a neutral color will work with just about any blouse you care to throw at it. In this case, I didn’t go neutral as I have more than one of the super wonderful Little Rebel ruched pencil skirts. When I pulled out this pucci-pop top from Le Petite Fleur, I opted for the orange skirt.

Vicious Girls 2.0

posted by Gidge Uriza

Looking for a fun Urban Decay sort of spot to shoot, Cajsa and I hearkened back to our past and went to the newly remodeled Vicious Wasteland. With ability to build and run scripts, this is a great spot for shooting photos or people – depending on your preference.

We were choosing to spotlight the fashions of one of The Grid’s Russian designer’s Olya Lowey. Olya’s designs vary between ultra-modern visions of future fashions to Romanov velvet influences, all with sharp details and many including shoes and accessories. Continue reading

Omnibus: New Skin Preview, Tattoos, Studio Tour Pt IV

For those of you concerned that blog reading is bloating your inventory, take a deep breath and relax. Today’s post is about two items you can’t buy today. The first is a preview of a new skin from Hart Larsson to be released in September. The skin is a collaboration with Nardya Rousselot, the tattoo artist, and has lovely, feminine tattoos.

To reflect and highlight the tattoo design, I chose a swimsuit that harmonizes perfectly, but is not on sale. It was a group gift from bijou, the Sail Away swimsuit. This was a gift to group members in July – and a good reason to belong to the bijou group. Yes, I know, it’s not subscribe-o-matic and uses up one of those precious slots, but bijou has amazingly generous freebies and group gifts and deserves its 4% of your group space. Continue reading

Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon

Fridays I go painting in the Louvre.
I’m bound to be proposing on a Saturday night
There he goes again.
I’ll be lazing on a Sunday lazing on a Sunday
Lazing on a Sunday afternoon………………Freddie Mercury

When I got dressed this morning, that song popped into my head. After battling ghost prims last night, I felt I deserved a good lazy day. For you non-lazers out there, lazing is not something you can just do on a whim. It’s an art form and requires mental discipline and proper clothing and equipment. First, you must discipline your mind to ignore unsorted mail, clothes wrinkling in the dryer, cat hair on the carpet and other distractions from a good laze. For equipment, you need some snacks and out of the can food so you can get in and out of the kitchen in two minutes or less – lest you slip and put away some dry dishes or wipe down the counter. Most importantly, you need the right clothes. Comfy, non-binding clothing that let’s you loll around on the couch, the floor, the grass, whither you wander. More importantly, the clothing cannot be too bright and cheery – bright and cheery colors pep you up and pep and lazing are incompatible. Not everyone can do it, but if you approach it with discipline, the proper uniform and a good mental attitude, you too could be lazing on a Sunday afternoon. Continue reading
