Happy Monday morning!

C88 stuffs (2)

I don’t know why SL has conspired to make Acha look like such an eccentric English dandy today, but I approve. The frock coat is from fashionably Dead for C88, the plus-fours are from Schadenfreude for the same. The sweet specs are from Adore and Abhore. Now it’s time to retire to my skybox study and read all those books of ancient lore that I got at Arcade…

Why are my knees dirty, you ask

Forest Feast (2)

This morning, my old friend Siddean was kind enough to hold my hand and talk me through putting on her feet. “There are no appliers for Miasnow’s zombie-grey skintone,” I whined, but then I remembered that Helena Stringer has half-promised to work on appliers for us alternaskinned folk. Some day! But meanwhile, I put on the Belleza Arcade skin, and found that the Slink appliers had their own little sign in the Belleza shop. It was far too easy, one little click. Sorry I’ve avoided you for so long, pretty Slink feet! (I blame the fact that I wear Jackal’s boots all the time.)

With my feet on (and a pair of Betty’s Paola flats), I went for a late-summer stroll through Forest Feast. It’s flat-out gorgeous there, and I realized that I’d never seen it properly rezzed before. I’m wearing Katat0nik’s coat and scarf for the upcoming Collabor88 release (It’ll be out soon!). It’s such cute Autumnal coat that I long for late December, when it’s actually a little cold in Florida.

Oh — those dirty knees.  Well. I figure my avatar was probably kneeling in the dirt at Forest Feast curiously examining her new feet.

More pretty Forest Feast and outfit credits behind the cut!

A zig of braids

New hair from Calico

Calico Ingmann just created this lovely hair, Clara. When I saw it, I scratched my head, because I was certain I saw the inspiration for this somewhere… and then I fell down the rabbit hole of Pinterest boards about braids and suddenly it was 1 am. At any rate, I adore it, and want the skill in real life to braid like this. (And like these.) Go check out her shop, here.

I am wearing it with new little pastel wings that Allegory created for today’s FLF. They aren’t just pastel, but come with a monochrome hud as well for one’s more somber chibi wing needs. The rest of my stuff is from Arcade, of course. But the ultimate point is: FLF means it’s Friday! Soon we shall be sleeping in and drinking coffee in bed!

I also went poking around the sim of Azuchi yesterday. It is home of AMM designs (I think that’s the name), a retailer of Japanese home and garden goods. The sim is carefully designed — a great Daimyo’s castle set up on a hill, with the rest of the little medieval Japanese town spread below it, down to a tree-lined coast. The sim has many little nooks for exploration and relaxation, including this very pretty bower by the sea.

Behind the cut are more photos of my outfit, and a few more of Azuchi.

RIP Giulia: Cajsa’s tribute

This morning, after learning of Giulia’s passing, Cajsa posted a lovely tribute at the Love Donna Flora site:

I cannot say she “lost the battle” because she never wavered in her passion for life. There was no weakness of will that let cancer “win”. I hate that phrase because the only struggle people with a terminal cancer have is the struggle to live as well as they can and she won that struggle.

Stuff and things and more stuff and more things

Miriel (1)

This is the first time I’ve been organized about Arcade. I guess this is because Arcade is more and more organized too. I looked through the shopping previews carefully, put on Allegory’s full-body alpha and adjusted my settings according to her recommendation. Then I headed to the Arcade cam ship and cammed in. All of this added to a good experience, I was able to cam around and get things without much freezing or crashing at all, quite a unique experience on my Mac.

Then I got a bunch of awesome stuff! I’m wearing some of it now, and a lot more is in this photo over here. The elegant dress I’m wearing is from Evie’s Closet, the bronze edition of her Miriel dress. It’s my first poofy dress made of mesh, and very interesting to see how it moves. Now it’s time to go read to the Pwnies … enjoy your Wednesdays!

Lurking about Cupcake

Cupcake (1)

Last night I went for a wander through Cupcake, home of my pal Marie’s shop Milk Motion, among others. The shopping sim is just lovely, and reminds me of cute little northern European cities full of new things gently poured into old shells. The buildings and streets seem designed for walking traffic, with little arcades and gardens here and there, and the shops all entirely suit the sim. I’m loving what Marie is doing with mesh, and she’s always incredibly on-trend with her stuff. It’s a little like seeing Urban Outfitter’s catalog for next year, or Zara’s from this year.

I’m also wearing a new gorgeous skin from MiaSnow, her Walker skin. I am a huge sucker for her stuff and always have been, ever since the green and splotchy days (and I’ve kept every single skin she’s made). This one is a beautiful greyish purple like a decaying corpse, but perfectly made up like a drag queen. You can find it in the Marketplace, and pause for some black insect-like eyes too.

I actually got to the Arcade boat, so in this photo is my first item from Arcade, whee. Best of luck to all of you for reaching it, and getting what you want! The only thing left on my to-buy list are the Curio Obscura monster boots… More photos and credits behind the cut.

And lol — Gidge just got me sucked into the Grumpy Cat avvie. Nice post, Gidge!

I <3 my MiaSnow Walker skin

Nothing from Arcade is in this post

Guys. Save some for me!

I hear there is something called “Arcade” going on today. Pshht, as if I’ll be able to land in the sim. Luckily there’s much cuteness to console myself with, including the opening of the awesome Uncertain Smile store (go see the stuff from Helena Stringer and Katat0nik there), and a bunch of lovely 50L dinosaur plushies at ~silentsparrow~. What’s that — I’m horribly misusing the awesomeness that is the Pretense Pose Area 51 Pose Box? True, true — but see, it’s spy-like AND versatile!

***Pose box: Pretense Area 51 Pose Box – Three colors
***Plushies: ~silentsparrow~ Dinny the Dino – two in Sun and one in Sky color

Who shot the jukebox?

Miss Gidge

When I went back to Wild Texas Rose to get the slurl for y’all, I stumbled into a saloon. The saloon had a country DJ, and a lot of people line dancing. I’d never really thought about line dancing in SL, but of course it exists! How silly of me! (I admit I’ve only really been to the Aviary and the Velvet. I need to get off my arse more.)

I went to the sim because it was promoted in the destination guide, and because it’s beautiful. It has a little western town on an island surrounded by a river, and beyond that, gorgeous southwestern mesas — yep that’s right, I came for the mesas. They look fabulous in sunset windlights!

I also lured Gidge out to pose for me (that’s right, that ain’t me in that thar photo). This woman wears more half-naked than I wear fully clothed, no joke! Click the cut tag to see more photos of this lovely sim, and to see ALL THE STUFF GIDGE WEARS. 😀

Aw Milla, say it’s not so…

MichaMi sale <3

I’ve been an unabashed fangirl of Milla Michinaga since shortly after I joined Second Life in 2008. She’s lovely, inside and out, and whatever she does is done with grace and consideration. She’s recently decided to shut down her in-world store, MichaMi, and in preparation for this she’s holding a 50% off sale. You’d think that simple, powerful, and elegantly designed pieces wouldn’t work very well with my crazy avatar, but they totally do, because her clothing is well-made enough to lend itself to any style. Go check out her store, and help me give her a proper send-off to hiatus land!

Hair: Lamb – Lost – Obsidian
Skin: Plastik – Astrali skin with body freckles
Eyes: Plastik Vaele Coll – Galaxia – Nala
Jewelry: Lassitude & Ennui Macabre Jewelry in silver and black
Dress: MichaMi de Havilland Duo dress in Graphite

Sand and sunset

Dream Island (4)

School’s begun and mostly I’d like to be at the beach. Luckily it’s almost good beach weather in Florida (not so ridiculously hot), and this is totally achievable, just as soon as I feel better from treatments. Instead, I had a lazy morning staying in from work and headed to Dream Island in SL. Oddly enough it’s listed in the destination guide’s haunted category, but it must’ve had a thematic shift at some point because it was simply a lovely beach. I poked into a few coves, accidentally checked out someone else’s beach bungalo (oops!), and went diving with the orca. I like beach sims that don’t ignore the stuff below water!

I’m wearing a new-to-me designer, Trinite, today. I like the flirtiness of the cropped schoolgirl shirt and skirt, cutely done! More photos of the sim are behind the cut.

Today I dreamed of beaches...
