spectrums, palettes, rainbows and murder

With all the colors in the universe, you would think we would have more than three collective nouns for colors. But rainbow, spectrum and palette are what we have. Kind of a dull set of collective nouns considering the collective noun for crows is murder.  Savoir Faire released a murder of crows for Pose Fair that ended last weekend. The poses are on sale at the store now and are still murderously good fun.

On May 9th, FASHIONART will open up to the public and I think you will enjoy the creative exploration of fashion meeting art. Is fashion art? Nina Garcia said it is not. I think she’s wrong. I think after you go to FASHIONART, you will probably think she is wrong, too. Let’s wait and see.

Delirium Style has released a lovely collection of maxi dresses with a short sleeveless jacket. The dresses come in a muted palette of blues, greens, grays, pinks and purples and the jacket has a HUD letting you decide whether it should match or contrast with the dress.   The moss dress is shown in these pictures, but there is an entire spectrum of muted colors – including several ombre options.

I dug through my jewelry boxes and found this old but wonderful necklace and earrings from Mandala. The Kabuki earrings come with 4 options. I am wearing the smallest and it’s still longer than the length from my ear to my neck. I opted for hair that obscures the tops of my ears so I could wear the earrings higher than they should be to keep them off my neck. I love the Mandala jewelry but wish I could resize it because I really do not think my neck needs to be longer.  The hair is from Exile and is a romantically swooshing and sweeping long hair, thick, lustrous and not a single snarl in it.

The skin is from League – Erin was released at Skin Fair but is now out in the store. I love the fresh, bold look and the gorgeous eye shadows. I did play about in Photoshop today, just making a layer with a black to alpha gradient affected the saturation – kind of blending from black and white to color. Sometimes it’s just fun to play around.
