Are you a Chiffonzie?

Aug23_003

A chiffonzie is a designer who automatically reaches for the silk chiffon when making a dress. It’s a new term coined by some Project Runway competitors to refer to a small cadre of drape-addicted designers who seem to only design with silk chiffon. Appolonia Criss is not a chiffonzie. She uses all sorts of fabrics and designs highly structured as well as soft, flowing work. However, this silk chiffon dress is a wonderful example of what a chiffonzie can do – make a delightfully feminine froth of a dress.

All the cute layers of ruffled silk chiffon make this the ideal dress for dancing. I was trying out a few moves and showing off the fun ombre shoes from Baiastice.

Photo by Kaelyn Alecto.I was asked to wear my favorite Truth hair for a project yesterday – and of course, had to pick the Cajsa updo. One of the great things about Truth hair is that the designer, Truth Hawks, welcomes submissions of ideas for new styles and if he chooses one and makes it will usually name it after the person who sent the suggestion.

The skin is Selene by Aeva for Vintage Fair. I added some makeup from Chelle and Boom and bold earrings from Chop Zuey. The ring is from the newet jewelry release from Kunglers.

All gorgeous! I always love your styling. Chantkare is impeccable. And the ring! I want that in RL.

I do too. I love the feeling of chiffon. It’s such a feminine fabric. The ring is amazing – and so is the rest of the set! I would have worn the necklace but it didn’t get along with the neckline on the dress. Funny how stuff squabbles sometimes.
