While The Great SL Photo Hunt hurtles along, there happens to be another photo challenge that should be fun and interesting as well. Harlow Heslop has challenged folks to post raw, unedited shots. Since most of the time, all I do is crop photos, it was a relatively easy challenge. I had to refresh a few times to line shots up correctly within the frame I set the window, but other than that, it was mainly choosing a good windlight setting (Strawberry Singh’s Diamond) and policing my prims to make sure they looked good in the poses. Since I can upload directly from within SL into Flickr, it really was easy.
The dress is well-made so it naturally looks good. It’s from Aleida for Fashion For Life and its easy, well-made prim collar and skirt prims look great in most poses. The fabulously high-fashion hair is from MADesigns. I used Boon’s red hair tattoo base which matched pretty closely depending on how directly the sun strikes my hair.
The Aphrodite dress from Aleida is a sultry, sexy gown but inspired by the chain at its waist, I decided to go a bit further by adding the bold, silver Hydra breasplate, neckpiece, earrings and hand rings from Rozoregalia. They really have the ability to change the mood and coupled with the avant garde hair, really push the styling in a new direction.
The look was inspired by this Cendre skin from Katsucide for Fashion For Life. I was struck by how striking the eye and lip colors in the skin collection looked against the grayscale skin though I ended up choosing the Ombre makeup which is not brightly colored. I added the fabulous new Metal Tear Catwalk lashes from MiaMai that have a few extra-long silver lashes among the black.
