Yes, you can wear Houdstooth, Polka Dots and Tiger Stripes together. It’s a question of scale and tone – not that the patterns conflict. They don’t because they are on the same scale and use the same color palette. When I saw the Houndstooth coat at Muism (which was 50% for their anniversary sale) I had to have it. Such retro chic and the classic lines are something a style icon like Jackie O might have worn over a black or white Oscar de la Renta shift dress. Audrey Hepburn would have worn it over black cigarette pants and a heavy knit sweater. Katherine Hepburn would have worn it over grey wool pants and a white man’s shirt. I saw many outfits in my mind, but I wanted to push it a bit and go with prints. It was pure serendipity that I received a blogger pack from A-Bomb right when I was contemplating my options.
The Be My Baby Dress with the smartly contrasting bodice and skirt is a retro lover’s delight. The black and white polka dots are perfectly complemented by the blue and black tiger stripes. The long, lean look of the dress is smoking hot and show off your shape beautifully – especially if you drop on a skirt shape to accommodate the system skirt.
The Houndstooth coat is a perfect length for a dress and the Sugar n’ Spice shoes from AW Design have a lovely modern take on a retro look.
Evie hair from Truth has a nice retro feel as well – reminiscent of Marilyn’s loose curls and the Zaara jewelry set echoes the polka dots and the colors of the dress. The Belleza Jesse skin (from Skin/Shape Expo) is achingly beautiful.
Also achingly beautiful is the sim Aear, Lux Aeterna though unfortunately no scripts are allowed, so posehuds and pose balls don’t work. However, simple pose animations like the ones from Behavior Body that I used are a fail-safe fallback.

Agreed on the animations. I keep all the same pose animations I use in my Ariantho HUD in a box that I can unpack and haul back into inventory, for just such an emergency.
