My longest SL Love Affairs

There are a few designers whom I discovered early in my second life – the ones whose clothing made me search for ways to earn some lindens because camping would never suffice to feed my addiction to their wares. One of those was Neferia Abel of Ivalde.  I joined the group and looked forward eagerly to the weekly announcements. I never missed the group freebies and checked on the welfare of the lucky chair with dedication. This outfit was one of my earliest purchases. I was about a week old when I got it and you know what, all this time later and I still love it.

I fell in love with EarthStones about the same time. My first purchases from Abraxxa Anatine of EarthStones were her burst beaded necklaces, I believe. I still remember the excitement of finally discovering a jeweler that was not all diamonds and bling, someone who made jewelry with minerals and semi-precious stones. It was a thrill. In today’s outfit, though, I am wearing the new shoes from EarthStones, the Troya slides with a fabulous stone cabachon.

I guess I was just 4 months into Second Life when I discovered Petal Meg – the jeweler who makes SL versions of her RL jewelry line.  Fuschia Jewell was always very friendly and generous, often gifting me with an additional option when I purchased an item.  There were also more than a few nights spent haunting her lucky chairs. This necklace an earrings are just one of many of her designs in my inventory.

And time marches on and new love affairs develop. One new one is with the magnificent skins and eyes from Genesis – skins that are so detailed the muscles ripple as you move. There’s a glow on the cheeks and a bright spark in the eyes.  They bring the avatar to life in beautiful detail. Another is with the hair from Magika. I love the color and the variety of styles. My first visit, I was nearly overwhelmed by the variety of hair.  Thankfully, fashionistas need not pledge allegiance to only one designer but can be as polyamourous as they please. I am sure that if I were to list out all my SL fashion loves, the list would be long and full. That’s all good. Polyamory forever!
