A Dress To Fool A Prince

posted by Gidge Uriza

I’ve got some strict rules in my life. One of which is that when watching musicals, you are required to sing along, with gusto, any song you know.   My Fair Lady is probably one of the harder pull off as the ridiculous soprano is impossible to sing but – you get the point.

You must sing. LOUD. With Feeling.

I could’ve DAAAAAAAAAAAAAANCED ALL NIGHT…….like that.

So when I wandered into the new Modern Gypsy shop and stumbled up on this classic Empire styled dress – my inner Eliza Doolittle came out. You fans of the movie, isn’t this dress a great modern update on the gown they dress her up in for her first TRIAL RUN at speaking proper English?

Similar in line (duh Empire) with stylized scrollwork detail (what are those wonky celtic crosses?) on the shoulder and bodice plus the bright bold color make the dress thoroughly current while the lines definitely say Napoleonic Era.
