Too Pretty for Mourning

This lovely black gown with the gorgeous fur neckline and the lovely tulle drapped gloves was sent from the soon to open Phoenix Rising. I fell in love with the exquisitely rumpled full skirt and the beautifully constructed fur collar. As soon as I tried a necklace, though, the collar dropped off as it was attached to the chest instead of the spine.  So I decided to copy the collar and attach the copy to the spine to free up the chest for a necklace and thought I might show you my method which is pretty easy and foolproof.

I make a copy of the piece I need to edit, but to make sure I get it in place, I leave the original still attached. That way I can use it to guide me in lining it up. If this collar had not been copiable, I might have tried editing the necklace instead – since it’s so much easier to get it right with the original in place. I rotate it to align with the original and get it more or less in place.

Once it’s close, I zoom in and line it up from all angles. When it’s done, as in the last photo, even though I am wearing two collars, it looks like only one.

Of course, fashion being what it is, after all that I decided that a necklace looked too busy and didn’t wear one. Still I have the collar if for some future occasion I decide otherwise.

This photo shows you the lovely effect from the tulle prim attachments on the gloves.

The bold earrings from DeLa are more than enough adornment. The Street Magic style is equally bold and modern and playfully mimics the collar.
