The other day I was shopping at Adam N Eve, looking to see if their made their wonderful high-waisted leather skirt in gold as well as silver. They don’t, I want. I wanted to wear it with this top – a blouse I love with reservations. It’s a gorgeous design, I love the intricate black on black embroidery and would wear it more often if it were not sold on only the jacket layer. I would like to tuck it in sometimes. I would like to wear it under a jacket sometimes. It’s a constant refrain from those of us who write about fashion, give us more layers.
Sadly Adam n Eve don’t make the gold counterpart to their marvelous silver high-waisted skirt and for whatever reason I wanted to wear gold. Yes, silver would have worked great, but it had to be gold. Then I remembered that I already had an Adam N Eve gold snakeskin dress so I put on the skirt prim and glitch pants from that…and it worked beautifully.
There were two reasons I wanted to wear gold. First, I wanted to wear these Adam N Eve shoes – the Babii Pumps. I love the bronzey look of the gold. I love their sheen. I was tired of hiding them in a folder and wanted them to have their day. Secondly, I wanted to wear the deco set. Now that’s what happens when you start building a look from the accesories rather than the clothes, you end up popping around the grid looking for clothes that haven’t been made yet. Yet? That’s a hint.
