I tolk you last week how I discovered Modern Gypsy when I met Staci Bernard looking impeccably styled and gorgeous in a wonferful coat. But then I didn’t show you the coat. I am rectifying that today. This is the wonderful coat I saw and, if you will indulge the conceit and ignore attachment point limits, the dress underneath it.
Mima is a deliciously fun black and white dress with a delightfully playful waist ruffle and over skirts. The pouf sleeves add another sly touch. This is a high fashion dress with a sense of humor and play.
That same humor is alive and well and fiddling with this jacket design as well. The scalloped pouf skirt in three tiers of tulips is a delightful bit of whimsy. So are the bold sleeves and collar. Counter-posing their expansive wit, the tightened belt feels like a dash of sly sarcasm. At first glance, it looks like the typical designer branding with initials or logos, but the fact that it’s not seems almost subversive. Wagging his finger atdesigners who emblazon their initials, but with wit, not dogma.
Both are accessorized with LBD’s Vero jewelry set and the Fai Robis Winter Crystal ring. This photo also gives you a closer look at the dress bodice, with the sleeves, collar and scarf all so integrated into a lovely whole.
The hair is Madonna from bijou. The updo keeps the hair from arguing with the coat collar and it’s retro chic beehive look suited the coat perfectly. In this photo, you can see the rich texture of the coat.
The tights are from CB fashion, repeating the stripes in the skirt and in the coat fabric.
The boots are from Courtisane – the new collaboration between Enktan Gully and LeeZu Baxter.I love the look of them and thought that open front and the little ruffle around the top were perfect for this outfit.

Cajsa, I am so happy to see the beautiful coat here. Micah Kanto did such a superb job designing the garment, and the cost is simply incredible. I often look at items such as this one and walk idly by, deciding that 1000 L is simply silly to spend on cartoon clothing. Finding something designed as flawlessly as Micah’s clothing for the reasonable cost of 200 L kept me standing long enough to not only purchase the item, but admire it for a moment as well.
