Audrey & Hepburn, not Audrey Hepburn

When I received a promotional copy of the new Stiletto Moody shoes tonight called Audrey, I could not resist being a total cliche and pairing it with the Hepburn dress from Azul. Now I confess to being as hesitant as the next person to splurging on these shoes but I was counting and figuring to see if I could swing it because they looked so lovely and might work so well in photos.

When I first put them on, however, I had a lot of difficulty getting the tint right and was just frustrated beyond belief until I realized I had sheer red nylons on that were interfering. Once I took them off, it was a snap to fiddle get them set. They helpfully provide several preset textures tinted to match Beauty Avatar’s Ariel skin – a skin I don’t have. However, they also have this cleverly named button called “Control Freak” and that sorted me out just fine. I had to adjust the ankle strap a bit, making it just one tap of the + button bigger and raising it just a smidge.

I decided to shoot a lot of different poses so you can see how the shoe reacts to different positions. You have seen plenty of closeups on the blogs, but these unaltered, unprocessed photos will help you to see that the shoes do really well in several positions, not just straight. there are many more on my flickr but look as your will, you won’t find frankenstein foot.  The shoe works in all sorts of poses and positions.

Now, let’s spend a minute on the gorgeous dress by Mami Jewell, recently of Styles of Edo, but now in her own shop, Azul. I sent her an IM to inquire whether to label this dress Styles of Edo (where I bought it) or Azul (where it’s now available) and had a lovely conversation where she told me that I was the first to blog her clothing. I did blog her beautiful Sharon dress several months ago. Of course, that doesn’t mean someone else may very well have done so earlier, but she and I have not read it.

I am wearing some lovely crystal jewelry from luc  and hair from Kin. I chose a short and sassy style, though certainly not one that Audrey Hepburn ever wore. But, if she were of this era, I think she would love this style.

The skin is Cupcakes Celebrity and has the most lovely freckles.

I got engaged in that dress and bought it in her original Azul shop, before Styles of Edo. Great review…the whole ensemble is just gorgeous!

I’m almost tempted to say that dress isn’t too unlike the one Lady Audrey wore with Gregory Peck in Roman Holiday. Not quite, but it’s just reminiscent enough.

Katherine Hepburn, of course, would have said fie on this, at least when she was off camera.
