Lucky Chair Parties – The Grid's Hen Party

It used to be that lucky chairs were full of junk no one wanted, but still – you were kinda tickled if you won.  Then slowly, good designers have added them. And now even, it’s become a truly fashionable trend to create the lucky chair only items.

Our desire to obtain what cannot be BOUGHT therefore creates spontaneous Lucky Chair Parties. Such as at Zaara one night.  Cajsa and I were shopping and decided to stop in to see what was up with the lucky chair – there was a beautiful new dress in the chair (pictured obviously).

When were arrived, the place was hopping with about 12 people already standing around. The fun started when we started TPing in our friends, and everyone else joined in. People’s boyfriends hopped in to keep the chair moving, I TPd in a Gorean Slave friend, all walks of Grid Life came rolling in – called forth by virtue of that magical letter in their first name.

There is cameraderie at these parties. And fun. People are chattering, and laughing and cheering each other on.  It’s rather hilarious to hear us all giving directions to the person who JUST TP’d in- NO THE CHAIR IS TO YOUR LEFT! STOP WALKING! ONLY ONE MINUTE LEFT! LET IT REZZ!

And then toward the end of the night Zaara herself arrived – having gotten an erroneous message about griefing, to find her store jam packed with hens, and giggling and jabbering about how much we love her and her work.

It’s sisterhood, post-feminist-fashion-bonding-grid-based sisterhood.

I like it.
