Hibiscus Dreams

The lone hibiscus

waits for the sun to bloom:

morning’s first offering

Ram Krishna Singh

I am sure I am not alone in excited anticipation when I hear that Eshi Otawara has made a new gown.  I know with certainty that it will be creative, unique and lovely. Sure, there are some for which I merely admire the creativity and unique creative vision without having any desire to own it myself. However, more often than not, her dresses thrill me with their feminine beauty and wild leaps of imagination.  Her newest, Hibiscus Dream is such a gown.

Man, I Feel Like A Woman

posted by Gidge Uriza

So this scanty outfit started with the hair. I’d found some big foofy hair at a designer (who shall remain nameless) and it was just all that and a bag of chips. But, sigh, the economics of it were paining me. One color only for L$400?  So many designers are at least including a couple of tones or more for LESS money….

Quibbling over a couple of hundred lindens might seem silly but in fact, I’m just an AV like everyone else and not always MADE of money. Cajsa reminded me that I could check Damselfly for some big hair that might be what I was looking for, so I flew over there. Continue reading

Blowing in the Wind

Oh, I don’t know what’s more exciting in thsi picture, the blowing model hair from ::69:: or the marvelous jewelry from Genesis. However, I have worn this jewelry a few times, so let’s linger on the hair. Can you believe I didn’t even have to tint it? I did have to move two pieces so they didn’t come out of my face funny, but that’s it. I love the wild, chaotic flow of the hair which well mimics the whirlying wildness of the wind.

Hello, We're the ARC Police

Weve Got System Skirts - And Were Not Afraid to Use Them

We've Got System Skirts - And We're Not Afraid to Use Them

In the middle of a shoot the other night Cajsa and I both got the group notice that there was about to be a fashion show – in approximately 30 minutes. We decided we would finish up the shoot and then slip into something LOW ARC yet fashionably acceptable, and roll over to see the show. It was designer we both adore so we were really looking forward to it.

28 minutes and 147 hairstyles reviewed by Cajsa later we were dressed and ready to go. So we pop over to the show.

Comfort Wear

I love Urban Bomb Unit’s PornStar Xtra HiTops. You can customize them to be dirty or shiny new, they can be up or folded down, you can change the fabric and the colors of the individual pieces including the laces and grommets. So, instead of one pair or two pair, with all the options, you really have eleventy-million pairs of shoes. And not just shoes, fun shoes that make you happy, that put a spring in your step and make you wanna dance

Lucky Chair Parties – The Grid's Hen Party

Ah Zaaaaaaaaaaara

Ah Zaaaaaaaaaaara

posted by Gidge Uriza

It used to be that lucky chairs were full of junk no one wanted, but still – you were kinda tickled if you won.  Then slowly, good designers have added them. And now even, it’s become a truly fashionable trend to create the lucky chair only items.

Our desire to obtain what cannot be BOUGHT therefore creates spontaneous Lucky Chair Parties. Such as at Zaara one night.  Cajsa and I were shopping and decided to stop in to see what was up with the lucky chair – there was a beautiful new dress in the chair (pictured obviously). Continue reading

It's raining all over the world

Maitreya's Mishima boots keep my feet dry and warm.

Hoverin’ by my suitcase, tryin’ to find a warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain fallin’, seems I hear your voice callin’ “It’s all right.”
A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it’s rainin’ all over the world
I feel like it’s rainin’ all over the world

Chupa Chup

I have no idea what Chupa Chup means, but it’s what Sissy Pessoa named this lovely dress (one I got at her half-price sale) and it sounds fun, so let’s run with it.  It’s bright colors and wild stripe pattern so reminded me of candy that when I could not remember the name while saving to disk, what my mind came up with was chuchui. It was a tad chilly so I added a shrug from Little Rebel and went with some ankle boots from Novocaine.

Dirndl Delicious

posted by Gidge Uriza

This is one of my favorite dresses. I usually pull it out when cooler weather comes because of the fur collar, but the light airy skirt really speaks more to a warmer climate. Maybe it’s warm days – cool nights gown. Let’s play guess the designer. Ready?

This comes with three different color “jackets” which are the waist cincher. It comes with two different color tops plus two different fur collars, AND it comes with hose. Because of the great layer options, you can actually wear this dress a lot of different ways, which is typical of this designer – as are the colors included in the pack.

No guesses? None? Really!?

It’s Bare Rose.

Just when you thought Bare Rose was only for Gothic-Armored-Yukata Wearing-Post Apocalyptic-Vampire-Fairy-Cowboys, you find some other gems on the walls. Some of my favorite pieces I own from Bare Rose came from lonely nights on The Grid, just chilling out looking vendor by vendor at Bare Rose just to see what June has. After all, with SO much for sale – it’s hard to really know WHAT your options are. Continue reading
